cool techniques. Another good one is to just add a drop shadow using the FX tab / layer style and then detach the drop shadow from the element by going to
Layer > Layer Style > Ok at the dialogue
Then the drop shadow is detached and you can warp it into place and if you need more blur then blur it using the video technique.
@iPerSeM No, one uses a gaussian blur and the other uses a layer style. They may look the same to a noob but if you are a digital artist then they make a difference.
yeah the difference is in the technique and the fact that you can achieve my technique in half the time it takes to do the other technique. It makes me laugh how it is obvious that you have spent at least 15 minutes (or longer judging by your very poor portfolio website) trying to get them to look exactly the same. Lol how sad.
If you think the techniques are not different then film yourself in photoshop doing both. Have fun wasting your time you loser. :)
@iPerSeM What I am saying is that there is not need to create a new layer or duplicate a layer, just add the drop shadow to the original layer and then detach it using the technique I have described.
very very helpful....I would like to see more of these kinds..

@troglodyte3344 sorry missed a step:
Layer > Layer Style > Create Layer > OK at the dialogue to detach shadow.

@troglodyte3344 isn't this the same thing as creating a black layer layer and blurring it? ))
iPerSeM 3 weeks ago
@iPerSeM no quite clearly it is not as you have already created the blur using a layer effect. It is in fact much simpler.
troglodyte3344 3 weeks ago
@troglodyte3344 techniques are pretty much the same, and the result are totally the same.

@iPerSeM Oh and BTW, how convenient that you managed to hide the layers panel?? lol try again.
