all 4 of them were the masterminds behind S.O.A.D., not just serj tankian or just daron cuz if you listen to both their solo stuff, you'll see that its the two of them together (mixed with shavo and jon) that make them the SO GOOD.

@mgmga1 Daron didn't start help writing lyrics until Mezmerize. Until then it was just Serj writing the lyrics, and even on Mez/Hyp a lot of those songs were written by both Serj and Daron and not just one or the other.

@DreadedAffliction Actually, Daron locked himself inside his house for two years while writing the material (plus extra) for Hyp/Mez. Those two records were Daron's projects he even said that all the media attention that was focused on him alienated him from the band. Until the release of Hyp/Mes.Serj and Daron's lyrical writing was about 60/40...but the person who wrote the music was always Daron. D is the heart and soul while Serj is the voice and conscious of SOAD. No doubt about that (IMO)

Scars On Broadway wasn't too bad but if I had to pick between Scars and System, that'd be System all day long, glad to see System is finally off hiatus, I know it's still really early to be talking about a new album but here's to hoping for a new album...oh and a midwest tour date too lol

The big picture is simple to understand. Daron (A great and talented musician) eventually wanted to sing on all SOAD albums, which I am sure the rest of the band weren't going to go for. Thus, the birth of SOB which consisted of a 30 pound overweight Daron Malakian. This is was a lot of money and too much pot do to a person. Please don't get me wrong. I think Daron is the GENIUS behind SOAD and really..no one else. But, you have to admit and say to yourselves "shit!"Now, we face hiatus and 4 wut

Haha wow makes you wonder if either will ever get back together. Also, sorry, but even though I like the song They Say, this live performance of it is horrible. Ypu have live shows like this where it barely sounds like the song and he makes some hand motions for showiness then you have bands like Rammstein with pyrotechnics in almost every song.
