I remember living in a punk rock house almost ten years ago, when this music was NEW. Refused were ahead of their time. And everybody in that house, gutter punks, SHARPS, and stoners, all WORSHIPPED this fucking song.

It was groundbreaking at one point, before it got coopted and ruined by other terrible bands.

The Refused wrote the this song the way they did because they believed that punk music could not be anti-establishment while making use of sounds that had been coopted by the mainstream. Subsequently, this album purposely sounds much different even their own earlier punk albums. Furthermore, screamo has since coopted a lof of the Refused sound, so saying the Refused influenced those bands IS valid in many ways. What kind of band they are doesn't really matter anyway. They kicked ass regardless.
