It's not just a catchy melody full of rhyming words, the lyrics mean something. It's not like that rap crap that kids listen to these days... This is actually good music. I blame the lack of decent music in the mainstream and underground on all these lame artists who sing in annoying inflections and who can't write a song worth a damn because they try so hard to be original and "mainstream". These people are probably nice sure, but they aren't music geniuses, as so many claim.

@Stagsomat To say the present music scene sucks and the past was better is just an example of cherry picking. It's easy to say music 30 years was better, and then follow that statement up by picking only the most influential and historic of that decade. But the reality is that 99% of bands were subpar back then, just as they are now. Labels were douchey and manipulative, just like they are now. And time will tell just how impactful this era is, you just aren't going to know about it today.

@pianodillon You should give them a chance, they really are a great band. Totally different from the stuff you hear on the radio. The lyrics actually have meaning to them, and it's not just a bunch of songs about girls (and even when they ARE about girls, they're usually not sappy love songs like the ones on the radio). I'm definitely not comparing them to John Lennon. I don't think anyone can be as good as him. But still, give them a chance.
