i grew up watching this movie, as it is one of my mom's favorites. when i was in college, we all watched this one afternoon. the funny part was we all knew the songs, as it was all our moms' favorite.
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE !!! Thank you so much for posting. What I wouldn't give to experience this kind of love and pray it does someday, the sooner the better <3
Love this movie and the music. It is a classic romantic movie to enjoy especially if you love Neil Diamond and Lucie Arnaz. I think this was a good cast that showcased his songs. A+ My sister and I declare this a classic!
This was a really bad movie, but this video captures the best parts--Neil singing and shirtless. (Not a dry seat in the house!) Well, Lucie's performance was good, and this scene makes me envy her! But I remember, as a huge Neil fan, being so excited to see this movie--and so disappointed by Neil's acting, the crappy script, and the pathetic spectacle of the great Sir Laurence Olivier in a ridiculous part...oh, well, luckily Neil has stuck to music since.
@TheCalilady perhaps he needed to explore that part to see if it worked or not, so that in the future he wouldn't have to blame himself for not trying to explore the other part. Good that it didn't work and he went back to music, rightly where he belongs with his great, deep & romantic voice! I love listening to his songs.
Good example their of what went wrong with Neil's music in the late 70s and early 80s: Overproduction and too many strings. The acoustic version of Hello Again was delightful. When Neil does Hello Again in concert it becomes mired in synths and Schlock. Thank God Rick Rubin got this great songwriter to go back to his acoustic roots. No finer sight or sound in music than Neil Diamond playing guitar.
Whenever we watched this movie, my older sister would cover my eyes during the love scene because I was quite young (around 5). Still love the movie though. I'm kinda bummed that you didn't put in the part where the background orchestra starts making a lot of noise to get them to stop kissing xD
I was in 5th grade when this movie came out. I loved it then. I love it now. I had not seen this scene in sooo long!!! It made me cry...so nice...so beautiful...(:-)
