So, private schools train you in the things other people can't do; public speaking, writing, persuading people... And public schools don't, because...
The elite send theyre kids to private schools and from these schools they pick the people who will run the government and make the laws, they are super rich to begin with, and get even more rich when they get into politics and pass laws to help theyre rich friends in big buisiness, then they get into big business and cycle to and from political positions. In the meantime, the average person thinks that they are voting for common citizens, its a scam on peoples minds, to keep the rich wealthy.
@HealingVibrations You're dead right, and I'm really really sorry to be a grammar nazi but I just have to. They're = they are, Their = belonging to them, there = over in that place (over there). Again, sorry but I had to :P
As evil as many political analysts think Holy Wood is, there are a lot of left and right wing intellectuals that push messages just beneeth the skin of the body of dominant popular propaganda media. Scent Of A Woman is a movie that sort of spells this out, what it takes to succeed, and what kind of rat trap is what some authorities consider the greatest danger to intellegent design one can imagine... By intellegent design, I mean people intellegently designing things... not being told what to do
Fascinating! Gatto gets to the heart of the matters I'm concerned with... You can look at a lot of things in global politics, economics, education.,.. uh... um brainwashing systems and technology! It's beautiful in its horror. But whatever you want to think about what it is, it is what it is... Mr. Gatto hits on so many great mental/emotional conditioning systems that you can't help but to pay respect to the fact that you know he's right! In his facts, he is right! Right wing? That's schooling!
I am a high school, middle school teacher...and private, small schools...and I thank you John.....you are amazing to me....Mary Poppins2009 (not a joke handle, but my YouTube name)
John Kerry is descended from Forbes. And John Kerry himself went to St. Paul's in New Hampshire. I bet the old boys from Exeter are laughing at Andover because of Bush! I miss Bush, he had some entertainment value.
I've whittled it down to one simple question. Is coercion necessary? Lots of people will say, oh yes. Then I ask them why they think that. At that point the line goes dead. If you spend between age 5 and 18 being told what to think and when to think it, you grow up a person who is genuinely scared that if you don't go to school, you won't "know stuff". That's the very definition of brainwashing.

Gatto is hopelessly lost. Research shows that American school children who, essentially do not go to urban schools, score as high or higher on international tests of ability as other top-scoring countries like Sweden. Poor students who lack the basics of everyday living make it seem like our system is a failure - when its actually very successful. America must accept that its education system is a reflection of free market economic system, one that perpetuates inequality of the classes.
Cite the research. Your next task will be to explain how or prove that countries like Sweden give the same level of educational training as private boarding schools such as Andover; as well as proving that non-urban American schools are on that level as well. That is, if you're up to the challenge. If you're not, then you'll be proven to hold a view that has no reference to anything said in this video.
But what is the solution? I listened to several talks of him and he only shows the problems. Now we all know that they ruined our potential, but does this make any difference?
Anyone who gets out of school, realizes that he wasted 12 years for nothing! And is broke, without any qualification that is relevant in the real word.
How do you deal with it? How to learn to really learn
I just read Mr. Gatto's book "Underground History of American Education" and it was very eye-opening, almost frightening to read how our public schools came into being. They aren't interested in educating people, they just want to dumb down and indoctrinate kids to make them regimented and compliant to their corporate and government masters.
public schools are a joke i would know i just got out of one, they teach utter bullshit and when i called them out on it i got in LOTS of trouble, other than that i slept, talked to my friends, and just got into shenannigans w/ those said friends to fight boredom, most teachers NOT ALL, but most are completely brain dead and hate their jobs and adolescents, word to the wise don't torture your kids HOMESCHOOL THEM
From the website: "We have reviewed a number of Mr. Gatto's books, and they were so absorbing that we decided to invite him to our film studio for a series of interviews. Using a blue background, we were able to simulate his talking from a tropical island. In another tutorial, we'll show you how we did it."
well spoken. Gatto and Bill Cooper, god rest his soul. I still think that one of the great tragedies of our time is that those two will never get to have a conversation and someone as Brilliant as Mr. Gatto has to settle for a shill bastard like Alex Clones.
truth is truth, our society has become mind numbed by the type of speaking style that you suggested up there..."frenetic pace of modern junk media"...and I would like to further add,
that that type of media is a result of just what JG has proved through his experience and findings, it is a plan and the few of us who have stepped out of it are now growing back up into what we should be. Thank you, sir Gatto, for spreading your message and waking us up!
This is the best Gatto presentation on the Web, as in two-and-a-half hours he covers just about everything. Read his mind-blowing book 'Underground History of Education'. He may be a 70 year-old a bon-viveur, but if his easy-going "lethargic" speaking style seems to get in the way of the information, that's not JG's fault - it suggests you're too addicted to the frenetic pace of modern junk media to absorb content that demands some measure of cogitation or introspection.
It pisses me off when people say "...blah blah blah... for reasons I'll explain later" why mention it now then ?

So it took Gatto 30 years of teaching to finally figure this out? No way - he needed a retirement job - and this is it.

Why does he have looping tropical scenery in the background? That wave that never quite breaks is really distracting.

It was placed there by the NWO to distract you from Gatto. Nah, I don't know. Maybe he wanted a vacation or something.
