"Triangle" Offense vs. 3-2 or 1-2-2 Zone Defense

Great breakdown. This is one big reason why I hate zone defense in general. You don't even need to run an offense as sophisiticated as this to carve up a zone. I say man up on everyone. Man-to-man is the only way to play real defense. If I was a coach, I'd def. preach man2man and only switch if A) My team was loaded with weak man-on-man defenders or to irritate an extremly athletic defense. Otherwise, to hell with any from of zone defense.

Russel,In forming and positioning the triangle offense,kindly explain to me what we are going to do if the defensive player(triangle infront at the right wing) comes in to defend offensive player at the right corner wing.?keep me sending other moves and play,I love basketball and presently Im now the coach so we can adapt this one of our strategy...Thank a lot.

I use Keynote, it's the MAC version of MS PowerPoint. For the audio layer I use Garage Band and then I past the audio into each slide.

During our 3-2 defence if the ball is rotated to the wing the top wing defender on the ball side must get to ball at the side corner, and our middle guard from the top sags middle to help the high post or a cutter trying to expose up top. most defences move similar in our comp, do u have anything to use offensively to beat this kind of defensive movement in the 3-2 zone?

Thanks for the comment. I kind of get what you're saying here. This offense is designed to seal off the top defender if they move down to help in the high post. Timing is key and you need a high post player who knows how to seal the help defender with their body. Not sure if that helps. You also need a good wing to high post entry pass.

hey uvwjou, thanks for the comment and question. No, this offense doesn't work against a 2-3 zone because of the additional defender in the middle. The offense we run against a 2-3 zone (Rotation) is a high-low post flash. That's the next video that I will post. I do have another video that shows a set play against a 2-3 zone. However, you can't run that same play for an entire game. It works well for us though.
