  • Why so much hatred in everyone ? Can't we treat every other human being as just another pure soul and god's creation ? Very sad to see this sort of religious interference and discrimination amongst all ? As if some people are looking for excuse to just kill each other. Please.... Love everyone.... No one deserves so much hatred...

  • Awesome ..... I made it the way its shown. However i just fried all the ingredients little before blending them in my blender. It came out perfect. Thankyou very much.... Keep up the good work. You inspire even lazy cooks like me :)

  • Believe in Brotherhood . Don't hate each other !

  • Hey i am a south Indian. . . I think you will ask people to break their head to crack a coconut. . .!!!! Its very simple man. Hold the coconut in such a way that the two ends are on the either side of your palm (A line running over the coconut should be horizontal to you). Use hammer, or a iron bar and hit on the line.... The coconut will break into two halves immediately.

  • @ckrishh salaam alaikum mean may peace be upon you.

  • @ckrishh Namastay, Ramram, Jay Bajran Bali keee

  • @ckrishh

salaam alaikum means peace be upon you.

Namaste is derived from Sanskrit and Persian term "Namas" ( Persian: نماز and Sanskrit: नमस ) which has many different meanings such as : "bow , prostration , obediance , reverential salutation , adoration"; muslims cannot bow near anyone but Allah, the creator and sustainer of universe.

  • @ashukuwait If a Muslim is hungry and poor, he will BOW

  • @ckrishh i think you are so right.

  • i love you!

  • U always rock with your recipes :)

  • Very nice recipe

  • Good recipe and good video instructions. I normally like my chutney much much more spicier than normal, so would double the green chilli part. Two points though:

    1) Chef.Sanjay - please add quantities to the ingredient list for obvious reasons!

    2) I will take a tiny exception to your statement 'it is so easy to make' - because grating coconut is not all that easy! you probably have an assistant doing it!

  • Your the bestest cook i've seen on youtube, i always refer you whenever i want to cook a new thing...very true...vah re vah is all about inspiring others to cook good food :D

  • i love your cooking but try to mention the measurments when you cook cos some of are reall ammature's

  • y the fuck u want to grate a coconut .... when latter u gone blend it ??? ............... now tharkaa hahahahah

  • hes reaching to all his fans muslims, hindus basically everyone who values his recipes regardless if their religion, i wish more people were like him so stop spreading hate appreciate his work and peace be on to you out there.respect each other as we are brothers and sisters in humanity

  • @freespirit3983 Very well said . Very true !

    Humanity comes before Religion !

  • @faiyaz786khan islam teaches more than humanity

  • @ashukuwait yep :)

  • I know what chana dal is but how do you roast chana dal is it dry roast or with oil?

  • I am going to make 2morrow with mysore bajji. Thanks a lot

  • I totally agree with sasha's comment.Well said

  • wats wrong if he is saying salaam alaikum.

  • still a complete nut! I dig you VahChef! Sanjay is the MAN!

  • grttttttttttrttt rtttttttttttttttttttttttt grt

  • When u peel the coconut the chutney tastes different N good, The top layer some times spoils the chutney taste . IF you use a dry grated coconut you have to take only the white one happy cooking

  • you dont have to peel the coconut!!! everyone knows the ingredients. HOW much do i add????? And what is with the salaam alaikum crap? Are you in the middle east? Cant you Just say namaste /sat sri akal/good evening ? - curry is not a middle eastern thing.. It is Indian/Sikh and a lot of western people in India are looking at this.

  • @andrer2006 there are a lot of muslims in India too

  • you dont have to peel the coconut!!!

  • All is well and good, but you don't break coconut like that. If you want your coconut into two equal half's, then hit (hard) on one the three lines of the coconut at right angel, it will break into two equal half's. then you can use the traditional or modern scraper to scrape it out, which will give the coconut a nice texture. i know i am for a controversy here.

  • @sudeesh01 With due respect and I am being a south Indian, I have a problem with the method you described. Not necessarily it breaks into two halves. Even if it does we need to peel off the outer hard shell for grating. This is what we do back home. But the chef's method has advantage, we can remove the shell and grate very easily. I did it, it is awesome. I don't think we really want to grate coconut like in good old days. I hope people remember how hard it is.

  • wooowwww. super nice...

  • ur coconut chutney is super...i made it..my husband really like it..

n my 6 yr old girl is a fan of u..whenever i connect net she will come with a book to write down the recepie..

  • @dhanyaji

Though the hard work of copying is good for the soul and character building Drag your little girl ( really more like dragging yourself) into the 21st century! Buy a small USB Flash drive and download the video or save an MP3/wave copy of the commentary and burn it onto a CD or burn the whole video on a DVD and give it to the poor kid so that she can watch it on her portable DVD player! This job is for the coming year and you know what to give for her B'day or Xmas!(Tongue in cheek!)

  • @Psyche1954 .....

    ok ........sir...

  • u r a very good chef. u r recipe s r easy. but i'ed like to remind u not to say salam valik hukum as we r not anymore slaves of the muslims.

  • @indiadj wat is ur problem?

  • @indiadj salam means peace be upon you-its not making u slaves-ur slave of ur creator

  • You are great! As far as coconut water goes, the stuff in a ripe coconut is yuck. It's the water (and jelly) from young coconuts that is sweet, delicious and nutritious. Thank you for the incredible videos!

  • Sanjay ur so wonderful, needless to mention:O) u must try another version which is raw mango chutney: grind 1 chopped mango with 1tbsp coconut, 4 grn chillies, a pod garlic, piece ginger, 1 tbsp of coconut oil (secret ingredient with yummie flavour), 5 curry leaves and 1 tspn salt. remember to grind with luke warm water for creamy texture (better for those who live in colder side of the planet) its yum!! goes great with dosas and even plain hot cooked rice!cheers.

  • u showed a very smart way to break a coconut, thanks. can u tell us also how to grate it after u remove the shell? won't it break into pieces without support of the hard shell?

  • @MsDienow Hit the coconut hard in right angel on one of the three lines, it ll break into two, then you can grate it. thats how it should be done. from someone from the land of coconuts. you got to believe me.

  • Good Work Bro..

  • My blender's busted. :(

Can i use a coffee grinder to grind chutney? Has anyone tried this before?

  • coffee grinders are for dry ingredients only.

  • Nice video and nice presenter, but I REALLY wish you would give measurements. This video is really only helpful to people who are already familiar with the cuisine. Once I know the basic measurements I can be free to vary to my own tastes. Please consider it so that people who are new to Indian cuisine can benefit too!! Namaste.

  • there are 3 clack marks on the husk one will poke through for drinking the water from coconut before breaking it.....so not wasting the water....

this is a grwat way too.

    am making this

to the guy who said this isnt healthy ..your wrong.

it is v healthy, fresh herbs/spice/ leaves etc ..and coconut ...which in itself is very good for you

fresh is best ...dont buy from shops ...make it

    great vid 5*

  • Great video!

  • the chutney i tried is amazing.. great stuff. Also Sanjay here is one of my tip. I didnlt had coconut so what i did was use some peanuts and coconut powder and it worked great thanks again

  • Hi. Thanks for the vdos. What brand processor do you use?

  • 6:00 LOL XD

  • lets appreciate the fact he is saying it...

  • to nagia250 atleaset he is saying the muslim thing. i have never seen a muslim chef say jai shree ram. so shut your mouth

  • Well..said!!..

    LOL!.

Have u heard the saying.."Sir pey chada rakha hai.."

    That's just the case here..

    LOL..well said Sashacute22

  • @sashacute22 thanks for turning cooking into a racist debate... no wonder the world has a problem with muslims if there are as short tempered as u.

  • @sashacute22 Jai shri ram means "Victory to Lord Rama". Whereas Salam Alykum means "Peace be upon you" . If muslim says what you are saying then what is the difference between religions. Muslims can say Namastay which means "greeting". Please Say La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah meaning "There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the messenger of God".

  • @nagina250 Oh yeah? Really?? Atleast he is saying it. Have you ever said Namaste in your entire life?? No muslim chef says namaste.

  • @Ritulively This Nagina idiot is a Complete Gone case. Not here to Learn the Recipe of Coconut Chutney but Prooving nut herself to teach everyone ARABIC here :P

  • @nagina250 NO YOU'RE WRONG! It's Assalaam O Waalaikkum! Secondly Wht's wrong with you? are u here to learn or Teach? Why can't Ppl like you maintain peace?

Have you or any Muslim Chef? hardly ever wished anyone with a true Smile or emotion? like Namaste Good morning or Good Evening. Atleast this Nice guy is not creating differences or boundaries. Get a Life Dude.

  • Sanjay bhai....u are amazing!!

  • I tried it .........

    its too yummmyyyyyyyy

  • I don't like tadka but without tadka chatni is great yummy yummy healthy healthy....

  • u r a perfect person to show this...

  • u r too good!!!

  • The coconut trick is very good! I tried it and worked very nice. No mess really! Thanks a lot.

  • Thank you very much, I tried and it came very well. Good recipe

  • thanks chef........u teach me alot about south indian food............

  • i nt knw why he made it so complicateed.

the receipe is muh simpler. GRINDcoconut, green chilis fried grams and Salt with water.

saute mustard, urid dal,red chilis and curry leaves .

add this to the grouned mixture.simple

  • If you understand and listen what he says u will get it Mr Puzzled. "Authentic" is what he says dont u get it.

  • And he also said that its the way that southindians prepare it in the morning. but we dnt add tamarind and cumin seeds, not even in the hotel they do it this way. And then again its his way of cooking . No arguements!!!!!!!!!! : )

  • This is my mom's recipe:

Grind tamarind and fried grams together to form a powder. Then add grated coconut, green chillies, salt and little water and grind and blend. Then make the "tadka" with the mustard, red chillies, urad dal, and curry leaves, pour over the chutney and mix.

We are Southies too and add tamarind, which gives the chutney a hint of sourness. Try it sometime. My aunt even adds a few fresh mint leaves while grinding that gives a nice flavor.

  • thanks 4 ur receipe . i wud try it.

  • There's nothing better than using fresh coconut and breaking it the way chef showed.I have tried using those frozen grated coconut.they're so dry and tasteless.think they squeeze some of the milk from the coconuts.Compare the taste of freshly ground and readily available grated coconut.i'll always use fresh coconut now that i know the easy way .thanks Chef!this was awesome.Mainly coz u showed the way to use fresh coconut.

  • THAT,S WHACK YO

  • the freshly ground coconut flesh is kept in the fridge at these asian shops.

  • you can use freshly ground frozen coconut flesh which I get from Vietnamese and Tamil grocers.

  • thanks for the great tip!

  • the freshly ground coconut flesh is kept in the fridge at these asian shops.

  • so that's how you open a coconut! i never knew this! i am so going to become a nutcracker.

  • Thank u very much chef, I always thought that this recipe was a closely gaurded secret of the hoteliers.
