i was downloading a software upgrade to like 4.03 or something, then my battery came out. Now the green light will go on for like 30 seconds then shut off, it still charges and what not but the screen doesnt even come up. I would greatly appreciate any help. Because I would like to be able to play my psp again.

Ok, I have a Pandora's Battery and Magic Memory stick. I install 3.71 m33 ( Basically I pressed X ) After that is says press x to shutdown. I do. I plug in my other battery and it loads up, After it says "Sony computer entertainment" it freezes right when it shows the date and battery power in the top right screen. Any ideas on whats wrong?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I have been having trouble with a psp that someone gave me. I've never used a psp before, do you have to have a memory stick to use a psp? I don't have a memory stick and it wont turn on or do anything other then have the green power light turn on for ten seconds and then it disappears. I'd appreciate any help you could give. I went and bought a game for the bloody thing but I can't play it. I also only have the battery and charger, I have no adapter.

wont work.

if your PSP is bricked then you cant get into recovery mods(hold R trigger while turning on).

if you do not have custom firmware before, it will not have recovery mode.

The secret to unbricking a PSP is simply getting about $120 and buying a new PSP if this doesent help you need help :))

This is really pissin me off now. All these vids unbrickin psp's and none of them help. I had the mem stick I had the Battery nothing unbricked. the screen stayed black. i havnt noticed that you havnt mentioned were you got the UPDATE.PBP file from and also you havnt mentioned the fact that its best to backup the NAND while on the service menu.

Pandora's Battery as this is known, is the process of creating a JKB (JigKick battery) to downgrade a PSP running FW (firmware) 3.51 and 3.52 and to unbrick a bricked PSP. You'll need a PSP running custom FW or the original 1.5 FW to install the necessary files on a 256MB. The MS can be formatted afterwards and can be used as normal - some report that it doesn't even need to be formatted.
