@biohazzardism Japanese society is much more homogeneous than many other countries so just like in real life if you watch an anime that takes place in Japan it's pretty rare to see someone that isn't of mixed or complete Japanese descent in the show. There are some other shows that do have black characters but they are pretty few and far between. Personally, I love it when the cast is more culturally diverse. :)

@biohazzardism You bring up an interesting point ^_^ I know Japan is mostly homogeneous, but they have a small population of foreign, non-Asian immigrants as well. I was actually watching the live-action version of Ouran about a month ago, and during the commerical break, there was commerical that showed a black man having a conversation with a Japanese family. I've seen white and black ppl in a few dramas as well ^_^ So yeah, it's rare, but not totally unheard of.
