People always ask, why don't the spirits help us? The answer may lay within one's self. When is the last time you made libation to your ancestor spirits? When is the last time you called upon them? When is the last time you rewarded them properly for their service? Do you even know how to call them? Life is not perfect, infact it is a trial of sorts. Our ancestors did not protect us from slavery, yet you sarcastially ask about an earthquake??? Slavery claimed 99 millions African lives. How many did the earthquake claim? However they do interceed on our behalf to the great God to deliver us from those things that effect us in a negative way. The reason why Voodoo and Jewish beliefs are almost identical, is because Those africans are thedecendants of Israel, and have mixed the Hebrew beliefs with pagan practices, and we were punished for it. We were sent to slavery as Dueteronomy 28 states. Now we must stop themixing and obey Yahweh. I agree with you...Voodoo is similar in many ways to the Jewish faith. The probelm is that some people try to place a negative stereotype on voodoo, that they do not even give the religion a chance. If people give black music, black food, black dancing, and black fashion a chance, then why not our religion?

Florida, home of Republicans and the elderly, is often devastated by hurricanes. Why doesn't God protect us? That question has nothing to do with the efficacy of a religion.

You have to be pragmatic when talking about voodoo, there are some who say they are voodoo and believe in the things you say are not a part of it... voodoo is not a following of dogma, you make voodoo look more dogmatic than the Roman Catholic stereotypes!

You´re absolutely right on the thing about voodoo dolls. The point is that you can make a doll and kill somebody doing so without any need to call it a voodoo doll. If I created a logic doll and attempted to kill a logician I don´t like people would brand me nuts but everybody says it´s OK if I make a doll and say afterwards ´hey it was just a voodoo doll´.

The point is not what concept you use to describe the doll , it´s how you manipulate energies!!
