  • Amazing job thanks so much for this tutorial!!!

  • Damn that cold Is SERIOUS

  • She looks like Knuckles

  • im ah braider myself nd ii never seen anyone braid like that are uuh over handed

  • girl, im sooo glad you posted this, ive been trying to learn to braid! love the fact that you cared enough to learn how to do black hair! :) love it!

  • I love the way you hold the hair. I used to hold the hair like this when i just started learning how to canerow, but my friends at school told me that it wasn't the "correct" way. Now that I started placing my hands at the root, I can't hole the hair like this anymore without the canerow looking messy

  • That little girl must got a scalp made of steel! I wish I was as quiet as she is while I was getting my hair braided because I used to cry like mad.

  • Wonderful job! You can tell her hair is well cared for. love it!

  • Wow so pretty...i didt even think that was yer daughter ! Ahah

  • She is cute and the hair style is very neat....even the parts are very straight very good job!

  • Wonderful job!

  • You are doing a beautiful job on your little one's hair. By looking at the parts and the child's hair near the parts, I can clearly see that you are not braiding your child's hair to tight nor hurting her. There is slight puffiness of the hair near scalp which means that the hair is not being pulled tightly from the scalp. Keep of your excellent work.

  • awww dats so pretty i been watching all ur vids im tryna learn how to braid ur vids are the best i actually did a braid and it came out right just by watching you

  • very creative. you did a wonderful job. and so inspiring that you adopted those children and learned how to do their hair.

  • I think that u hurt that little girl n u shouldnt braid her hair that tight u stupid mf

  • @jonesmikess bruh dat wznt even called 4 she just said ha daughter wznt hurt she wz sick nd u aint have 2 call ha a stupid mf wat if som1 called u a dumb sob

  • i love it thanx for sharing i'm gonna do the same on my lil princess

  • Good job girl, keep up the good work! Although, that was four years ago, I bet you know even better hair braiding techniques now.

  • I stumbled across your child and i had to subscribe,I luv how u braided yor daughter's hair...

  • Thats so cute!!! You have motivated me to try the same with my daughter!!

  • You go girl! I know a lot of African American moms who can't even braid like you do! Great job!

  • Ur daughter sounded like she was hackin up a lung i hope she gets better

  • Love it!!! :-)

  • thas tight..usually when i braid it gets all loose after..lol..but im still practicing!!..

  • very nice, wonderful woman and mother..

  • Tell your daughter how beautiful she looks!!! I'm pinay and my son is also (Filipino) but he has long "asian" black hair, I noticed you didn't even pull that tight, will I be able to get the same results as your daughters beautiful hair since hers is curly? Or will I have to subject my son to a little bit more pain? lol.

  • nice job

  • You braid faster than my momma

  • Thank the Lord. I just saw some woman on here torturing a child trying to braid her hair and had no idea what she was doing.

  • i am so proud of u to have addopted black children and learn how to do thier NATURAL hair, instead of being like others who dont know and perming and damageing thier hair or jus not doing it at all, GOOD JOB!!

  • this is so cool, you rock, white mommy :-)

  • the snot noises were so nasty. lol poor baby.

adding this video to my favorites! it looks so simple now! but im not as good as cornrowing as you are. . . it takes me forever. i need more practice, but no one will let me practice on them. =[ lol

  • im not even gonna lie... i love how u adopted a child of color and not only just that but u adopted! which is mainly tha big thing ,okay. God Bless You. but i must say as me being african american i Love how u took tha time to learn blk folks hair and aint havin ur daughter walkin round nappy headed. I LOVE IT BOO! keep doin tha damn thang, i almost cried watchn this. good job

  • I wished people would not ask dumb questions, like is that a client or is the dad black, like it is not logical for her to have black kids or just plainly kids, I think she is doing a great job with these kids maybe a lot better than the ones leaving negative comments do for there on flesh in blood. I am so sick of the racial thing, everybody has the same color blood running through their veins. So people just chill and let Katelyn raise her beautiful kids.

  • @tmonickful about the "racial thing," are you suggesting no one ever talk about it ever again? and i dont see any negative comments, they are just curious, its not a dumb question. no one questioned her parenting skills or anything like that.

  • i loved how you did everything so nice and neat it looks good :)

  • Great job ....she has beautiful natural hair too ....keep up the good work ;0)

  • Tight but the kid really did have a cold. You can hear the congestion.

  • u did a good ass job but damn u make braiding look difficult and i can braid...

  • woow thats beautiful.! =)

  • you are GREAT at corn rows - i do my sons hair his hair goes about to the middle of his back REALLY curly and i want to try this style! thanks for the great tips!

  • Woaaa you're GOODDD :D bestt videoo.

  • wow thts really nice. i had no idea how to do it. this video really helps. i learned the criss-cross in a matter of minutes. awesome job!!!

  • Your amazing! I love that you took the initiative, to learn how to style black hair. Instead of having your children, looking a mess. God bless you and your family, their blessed to have true color blinded parents. It's definitely, about the human race and not race! Who knew? A simple hair braiding video, could break stereotypes of interracial adoption? LOL

  • Thank you sooooo much, you are awesome! And your daughters hair is beautiful btw :-)

  • wow

  • Wow! You did an amazing job! Your race does not matter..its 2010 people need to get the hell over it! Thank you for teaching me how to do this style.

  • not tryna be racist but ur da only white woman dat i kno can braid

  • yes i like this show me how to do cris corss thnks ohhhhhhhhh thts easy so easy

  • its ashame how some of us black ppl dont even kno how to conrow and she does lmao yu get it hun!!!

  • I'm 11 years old and I did this look on my 2 sisters and the like it so much... And a friend too

  • LOVE this video!! I am in the process of adopting and she will be either African American or mixed race. I can braid, but usually do it the opposite way so will have to learn how to do it 'backwards'. Videos like this give us adoptive mothers as well as birth mothers I'm sure a great amount of help on how to do it right. Props to you :-)

  • I will be crying also look at how she is braiding this child hair!!!!!!!!! Damn and it's her daughter talking bout she has a cold.... she is pulling on her hair!!!!!!!! Improper corn rows....

  • im 11 yrs old could you teach me how to do cornrow the video you made i couldnt see it cuz it was dark could you make a video with more light please

  • are they adopted or is there dad black

  • @ayzha1000 - Three of my children were adopted.

  • @Katelynylyn u got some mad skills looks great..

  • @ayzha1000 Idk what that has to do w/ anything.

  • Excellent job! I especially like that you didn't apply any pressure or heavy pulling to her hair. The braids look nice and tight without stress to her scalp. Perfect!

  • i dont braiding should ahve anything to do with race..and why make it a race thing. im black and i cannot braid.simply because i was never taught to. the women of my family get perms and the males their hair cut. i just went natural and im starting to learn. i dont think race is important. props to her for being able to braid exceedingly well.

  • Thats Cuteeee

  • @ch3rylip5 - oh no she wasn't in tears, she just had a really bad cold! And she is my daughter :)

  • @Katelynylyn Is she your birth daughter or one of your adoptive children just asking I'm also bi-racial my mother was white and my father was black so just curious and I'm wondering who taught you how to braid cause you do a wonderful job...:0)

  • I LOVE this! I have always wondered how this is done! Now I want to get a mannequin head and practice (I don't know anyone brave enough to let me try on their head) LOL Thanks so much for this video!

  • Hey it makes sense if your going to marry Black men and have kinky haired children, you better know how to cornroll. Amen. Hmmmmmm.

  • awesome job!

  • wow that is so cool and good im also white and i braid my sisters hair for them when they do sports and in the summer to keep it out of there faces im going to try this out and see if they like it :) .............im new at cornrow braiding so im sure it wont look as good as yours.

  • I find it kinda sad how many people commented this video just to point out that you're white and can braid...

Same concept, everything I'm out with my daughter when her hair is braided, someone HAS to ask who braided her hair... Why doesn't anyone assume that I can braid my own kid's hair?

  • wow that looks very nice, i can't cris cross braid for nothing but this is a style that i will definately try.... her hair came out beautifully

  • Gosh you're good. Thanks for sharing.

  • you adopted her or sumthing

  • @care4pink obviously

  • that's too cute. :)

  • i love how they out beads on it

  • I have a girlfriend thats always blaming her white mom for not knowing how to braid! this sure proved that reasoning wrong! lol

  • Histruthinlove01 how do u know that she is her daughter

  • She says it at 2:21.

  • @xxxAndrewxxx123 um she says her daughter has a cold in the video and she has two videos on her daughters' hair journeys

  • Because she says "my daughter has a cold" apparently you didn't listen to the video :)
