For everyone who's saying it's reach, you're wrong. This planet is VERY Forerunner-esque, and you can see the 7th Collumn symbol light up on the planetary surface, which isn't on reach. Also, Reach would have TONS of debris orbiting it.
I'm 90% convinced because you can see a ship in the reach ending but still the plot of a fourth halo is a mystery to me. Then again, it is known as the halo TRILOGY

5 years later:cortana is rampant which means shes near the end of her lifespan she decreased it in halo 1 when in the controll center and she is desperatelly trying to talk to the chief and retelling events from their pastand some events she tells are not accurate or didnt happen thats all we know about cortana to this day but if they landed on the planet 5 years later i doubt shes ded (this is for those what happens in the time cortana(mostly cortana) and chief are in the ship)

Nope. If anything, it'd probably be between our galaxy and the Ark, given the portal closed on the aft portion of Forward Unto Dawn.

Some Graveminds escaped and continued to spawn life outside the galaxy. There will be more flood.

I remeber reading from the creators that Halo's stry will be continued when the next game system from Microsoft is released. They also said that the story may continue from where we see master chief floated towards a metalic planet. On my personal opinion, this is a pretty dead ending. When Cortana said: "Truth, the Convenent and the flood, it's finished.", MC replied: "Finished." I think he is implying that his job is done and thus he is not needed anymore. Thus, a "finished" ending.
However, from the other point of view, it is not yet very finished. As we all know very well, legendary ending always reveals the next part of the story. So there may be a Halo 4.

All the different races of the Covenant have their own home world. The Elites have their own world, the Hunters have their own, the Grunts have their own, etc. The race of the Prophets even have their own home planet.

That's impossible the Master Chief SPARTAN-117 John-117 could never die. At the 6:00 to like 6:30 when he tells Cortana to wake him up when she needs him made me choke up and almost made me cry a little which is really hard to do. Who here thinks Cortana is a lot hotter here than the other HALO games?

Me too! i had just gotten an idea, i posted it on my page. It's my idea for the ending if they made another halo that closed the ending of this one.
I never cry when i read books, but i almost cried when i watched thiss when i played it the first time. It brike my heart when Cortana would have to be alone for so long

no, in this vid he skips the cutscene before the credits. the arbiter makes it back to earth though i am not sure if master cief and cortana make it back or not (they may have made it but the ship was probably split in half anyway. when the arbiter makes it back to earth, he attends the memorial to all those who have died during the war (including master chief, since he is presumed dead by everyone)

It's the noise you hear whenever you're going to encounter Flood. The thing is, as far as I know, they don't really mention where the portal goes. The flood were alien creatures that were examined by the forerunners. The flood had to come from somewhere, that might be their home planet. If you've read the manga, the flood have been around for a long time, longer then humans and covenant. They may have lived before even the forerunners. The flood had to come from somewhere.

The flood were first encountered by the forerunners on a planet that was known as G617 g1, however that isn't where they came from. Nobody really knows where they came from.

Might it be that the planet we see on the legendary ending is the shield-planet on halo wars? When Serina is asked where is it located, she can't answer. Besides, the Ark is like 5 lightyears away from the galaxy dish. It's odd that they find a planet with a sun in that location.

yeah, but, at low relativistic speed, beeing 5 lightyears away from the galaxy dish, I don't think they should find any star, be it a blue giant and a brown dwarf.
Besides, I think the astral body they're aproaching seems to have a surface. If I had to go for a choice, I would say it's another shield-world like the one seen on Halo Wars.

Possibly. Then again, the shield worlds were constructed inside the milky way as a way for people who couldn't make it to the ark to save themselves from the flood. Cortana and John didn't make it through the portal, so they're still outside the Milky way.
my guess is it's an entirely new planet. Maybe we'll find out when Halo chronicles comes out.
Or maybe there'll be a secret ending or something in Halo ODST.

i do think there is going to be a halo 4 but its not going to be called halo 4 at all. because like cortana said at the ending. the flood and everything is finished. they have no reason to go on to another halo. they stopped all the rings from firing so they might call it something else.

On my personal opinion, this is a pretty dead ending. When Cortana said: "Truth, the Convenent and the flood, it's finished.", MC replied: "Finished." I think he is implying that his job is done and thus he is not needed anymore. Thus, a "finished" ending.
However, from the other point of view, it is not yet very finished. As we all know very well, legendary ending always reveals the next part of the story. So there may be a Halo 4.

The Arbiter lived. He's standing there in the semi flash back scene in this video next to that admiral guy. The admiral says, "I can't believe he's gone." and Arbiter says, "Were it that easy." There're standing in front of a makeshift crafted dedication monument and in chalk is written Spartan 117. Of course his ending results in him joining the Elite in white armor and leaving Earth.

It can be Onyx, a planet where there is a spacegate that brings in a place that the power of the 7 Halos cant destroy. This planet is descripted in the book "Gost of Onyx". This book is about Halo's universe.

All the different races of the Covenant have their own home world. The Elites have their own world, the Hunters have their own, the Grunts have their own, etc. The race of the Prophets even have their own home planet.
