  • Tregard: I think you can trust her, team.

Dumbass #1: I don't think we can trust her.

  • SPOILER: The first guys die.

  • What a cool, surreal idea for a show. :O

  • this show scared the life out of me when I was a kid, with dungeons and dark corridors and timers and dragons...

  • we call chase the lady "hunt the cunt"

  • @paveltomiln cept not

  • SKYRIM has the same helmet i better buy and see if it the basic same crap as this

  • Treguard had an air of Jeremy Irons or Alan Rickman about him; wonder why he never made it as big as those 2 guys. He's probably an estate agent these days.

  • WTF, did anyone else see that toothless guy in the jailcell at the intro?

The guy on the horse just passed him by!

Some hero! Poor old guy... D:

  • This takes me back, when I was a kid this was one of my favourites. Always rushed home from school on Friday to see it.

  • Wow, how come we never got shows like this in America?

  • @lilwyvern4 American TV routinely rips off awesome British shows so maybe you did.

  • @terrasidius The closest thing I am aware of was Master of the Maze, which was KIND OF similar. There was one part where they had to walk through a cave with a blue screen on, and there were quizzes, but nothing at all as awesome as this.

  • @lilwyvern4 Be glad you didn't, this scared the hell out of me when I was a kid!

  • The jester at the beginning sounds like a paedo...

  • @crossie2003 and how would you know what a paedo sounds like?

  • jeez, somebody actually won?

  • yes, no .... im a dungeneer... mark hahahaha

  • i would fuck the queen of hearts :D

  • my mum & dad showed me this it's kinda weird 0_0

  • spoony sent me here

  • Knightmare was a great children's show back in the day. It was good for teaching kids about direction and co-ordination and the computer-generated special effects were very good for the time and still hold up well today. BTW, is it just me, or does Treguard look the spitting image of Zak Dingle from Emmerdale?

  • forget that last comment

  • at the end of epsode 3 treguard mentions previous champions from merseyside who were they?

  • the best of the best!

  • They seriously need to bring this back, but with the indoor rooms, dungeons and relentless puzzles & enemies, rather than the outdoor bits with daft padded out bits that made it a bit crappy!

  • What did you acctualy get for winning other than a coaster, does anyone know?

  • @MrMetalheart10 You got fisted by the producer.

  • @AlexFruen Nah, the weird looking bearded bloke

  • This was defo in my top 5 of all time classic kids shows from my youth!!! :o)

  • kill jester...

  • @Gladbear81 EXACTLY what this reminded me of

  • @Gladbear81 Jingle is dead o_o game over...

    Well worth it mate >.>

  • Treguard looks a bit like my Dad- sort of

  • Lol brings back memories

  • The opening is pure awesome :D

  • I applied to be on this programme!! LOL

  • Chase the Lady is an awesome game. My favourite card game (not the version shown here)

  • Me and my ex used to finish the "knight" shift and come straight home to wach this! We both loved it as kids and wouldn't sleep unless we'd seen it and got our Knightmare fix! Ha ha.

  • That maid is hot.

  • Get rid of weekend kitchen tv nonsense and get this stuff back on the BBC!

  • I remember being absolutely amazed that someone actually won the game, after years of raging at the TV when some idiot died in like the second room. Afterwards I was convinced it must have been a fix :P

  • i wonder if the actors in this series have progressed much in their acting career

  • Nice rhymes =)

  • All I remember was that the first guy who won it was called Mark. The maid was a strange quest because I think she fell down a trap door prompting the quest to rescue her....

  • I loved this programme. I remember running home from school to see this back in the day. it brings back the memories.

  • yes! found it!

  • by did the winning quests all have the same dungeon areas near the end or something? I never saw anyone win, but every new team there were different rooms/traps from what i remember...and yeah that maid is hot

  • I remember this it was such an amazing show. loved it! they should bring it back along with gamesmaster with dominic diamond i think it was...

  • i wanna bang the maid :P

  • memory lane,thanks youtube

  • memory lane,thank

  • I'd be cool if they made a version of this you could play at home, lol.

  • the queen of hearts is a hottie

  • I'm amazed somebody won this game, Every episode i watched as a kid, everyone lost.

  • @Lordfiller I never saw A winner which in my mind made it the hardest game to play

  • i used to love knightmare its so rare to catch it on challenge or anything. thanks for putting it on.

  • NERDS!!!!!!!!

  • @Knightmaremetal says the guy/gail who took the time to visit this site and post the comment

  • As a kid this intense stuff. I would NEVER miss an episode.

  • This has got to be the weirdest thing ever.

  • The presenter looks like the guy that sits & drinks gin outside the off-license

  • i remember this back in he days wen i was young

  • "Will they survive? Who knows? Who cares?"

    Oh Treguard. :)

  • @FluffyLovesSpyro2 Yeah, it's hardly effective promotion for the the show!

  • A ten of spades on the left? an 8 of clubs?

  • "Walk up to Jester and punch him in the face!"

  • YES YES YES!

  • Oh shit someone won this? Never saw it when I was a kid =P

  • The contestants always seemed loads older than me when I watched it, now they look about 12 - haha!!

  • this is real, I dont care what anyone says

  • i always used to love the stupid over acting

    its hilarious

  • 4:36 I bet she's thinking "8 fucking years at RADA for this !" ha ha

  • @matthewtblundel

I don't think she went to RADA. I've actually met the maid in this - she was a patient of my mother's a while back.

  • @iwastherealso what is RADA? and when you say she was a patient what do you mean exactly if u dont mind me asking?

  • The joys of late 80's children tv shows. I shall never experience it in it's true form on account of being born in 1995.

  • greatest ever childrens programme for boyss , everrr !

  • This is scary as hell...

  • i like childrens card games

  • Treygard looks like he is caned , well chonged

  • man this programme was sooo cheesy, I loved it

  • I love this show is was so kwl even though it looked so cheesy.

  • Interesting note here but Treguard voiced the Guild Master in the first Fable game.

  • He's also the narrator in the first Black & White game, and a few old bullfrog ones like Magic Carpet. He just has an excellent voice for storytelling, I think.

  • That kitchen maid's a bit of all right.

  • used to run home like a nutter every friday to watch this. oh the memories.

  • @mrvolax Damn, what time did YOU use to finish school? I'm sure this was on at about 4:45pm or something..

  • @eclectica1 Where I came from, a lot of people spent quite a lot of time on the bus, which would almost always leave school very late, so that's probably something to do with it.

  • Where am I?

  • You're in a room.

  • Bring this out on DVD.

  • this reminds me of growing up! always wanted to go on knightmare

  • This show was badass, I loved it!!

  • This show used to creep me out as a kid. In fact it still makes me a bit uneasy. Show's trippy.

  • @23house23 I got scared when the life meter got to the skull stage. Oh, and when someone "died".

    I was young and impressionable.

  • I got worried about the person who falled

  • Im in the USA and i like this show!

  • great quality upload!

  • this show scared the heck out of me, tho I was 5, i think especially the part when ur running out of the time, and the music changes..... seriously scared every time.

Looking back its a super show, none can rival.

  • ENTER STRANGER!

  • oh my god, cant believe i just found this!! the best tv show ever, when you were young, and came home from school!! bugger homework when this shit was on!! amazing, why the hell is there not shows like that!! for the kids these days??????

  • I loved this show when it was, watched it CITV after school without fail!

  • "Spellcasting!"

  • Alright Mark, take about 5 steps ahead. Okay, good. Now take about 2 and a half steps to the right. Alright, now once I tell you to do this I want you to run forward and to the right. Take your right hand and swat it to the right about waist level! If you hear an "Eeek!", you've hit your mark!

  • Queen of hearts would get it!

  • left them stones? sweet! I played chase the lady once got me nothing but a suspended sentence...

  • 10 of spades to your left? no it's to your right? no wonder so many died trying to cross a walkway with blocks missing Dumbasses!

  • My GOD Someone actually won this! It was so confusing as a kid how you actually won it! Plus the people guiding the kid usually made schoolboy errors and kept getting killed by telling them to go left instead of right LOL!

  • Free the maid? I thought you have to retrieve one of the four items. The Cup, The Shield, The Sword, or the Crown.

  • Yeah, you did, but in the first couple of series, you could free the maid too, or retrieve the talisman.

  • This actually used to scare me loads...not sure why.

  • lol m8 and this was b4 resident evil!!!

  • I was the geeky kid in the glasses in that episode!

  • man this is olddddddd, use to watch this constantly when i was a wee younglin

  • quality

  • Lol, not sure what you mean by that mate

  • This was such a great show....left three paces lol. It was impossible to win.

    Awesome, truly awesome

Your right Kbone, they dont make em like this any more

  • ichiwong: eeeehhh.. I dunno.. I agree it's a unique concept I've never seen before from a tv show... But british people are always dressing up for their renessaince festivals and talking in their funny harry potter accents.

  • its what we do!

  • It wasn't impossible just very difficult

  • I haven't found many people aged late twenties/early thirties that don't A) Remember the show and B) Remember that it was a true great.

  • This show is absolute genius.

Was talking about this show at work the other day it took 3 of 2 hours to remember what it was called. ha ha

  • wow!this was amazing thanks so much for upload!i dont remember the cartoon intro tho?!i remember the other one!

  • Cartoon intro was for the first 3 series, then it was changed for the newer version on the 4th. This is generally the beginning people prefer, but the other one was very cool too.

  • 'It left them stoned"

    lolwat?

  • At least some good came of them losing.

  • step left 3 steps. run forward and clothesline that annoying cunt.

  • Comment removed

  • I remember it was this followed by Fun House on CITV on a Friday afternoon...how I miss after school tv now!

  • @nabster85. Yeah I missed those days to. When there was real kids telly on normal TV. Kids these days don't know what there missing. Bring back the good old days of CITV. Good times indeed.

  • @nabster85 same memory! happy dayz....

  • Man this program rocked - haha.

They dont make em like they used too!

  • "Where am I?"

"You're standing in a Television studio in front of a Blue Screen"

  • lol that wannabe queen is a dotty one

  • This was my favourite programme by far for years as a child! I wish they would bring it back to tv it was fab. Why did they axe the show i wonder?

  • They have 'Raven' now =/ But I don't like it!

  • I thinks those are the only 2 shows where its implied the kids are actually killed in some shape or form.

  • HECK YES.

  • This was my favourite program when I was a kid. I demand DVD boxsets!!

  • Aaaaaaaaaaaaah DungeonSpin *it's super effective*

  • This show used to scare me when I was a kid xD. It was a great programme looking back so awesome upload :)

  • Go right! ... no, wait! Blow the horn. Get the cheese! left, left, LEFT! Noooo!

  • You are a hero for uploading this

  • definition of 'classic TV', great stuff. I remember loving the queen of hearts, anyone remember who plays her?

  • Her name was Gretel, have a look on the knightmare website, i'm sure it's on there.

  • cool ok, thanks.

  • Imagine if they brought this show back today??!!! This was the first inventions of virtual reality - i used to LOVE this, I played it in the woods with my little sister and her friends - i was always all the goblins and witches and blades etc x xx xx

  • As if you'd need notepads for this lol.

  • When this was on, I used to close my eyes and pretend I was the boy wearing the helmet. I'd forgotten that until just now.

  • That's so sweet!

  • treguard dingle?

  • Lol, no. Treguard was played by Hugo Myatt, not the bloke who does Zak Dingle on Emmerdale, he could be his twin though, lol.

  • i agree

    this is proper telly

back when we didnt have such a nanny, bubblewrap country

  • Yeah, where else could you see children being decapitated and plunging to their doom on such a regular basis?

  • This show every passed the Mary Whitehouse test. When the show first started our lovable British media went to her hosue saying there is a new saying killing children and naturally she was disgusted, but she then watched it and liked it!

  • Meh, Mary Whitehouse is a dumbass, she is one of the embodiments of everything that is wrong with American media.

  • Wasnt she British?

  • She was British I'm afraid, unless there was an American Mary Whitehouse too =D

  • I used to watch the Ewoks cartoon before this came on, non of that Phillip Schofield BBC1 crap.

  • Do you remember the Star Wars Droids cartoons?

  • Unfortunately I do, they were shit.

  • This was something special i remembr sitting on the floor watching this every single friday afternoon. This was real tv unlike all the crap u get today.

  • LOL this program was awesome, I was stuck in the first room, good job i had some 10 year olds to help me out. Guess you had to be a geek kid to get on this program, wonder if there was an entrance test?

  • Wow, I'd heard about Knightmare ages ago but seeing it is so much more entertaining than the descriptions could do justice. Yet another British show I grieve for having missed out on because of that ocean and a bunch of malcontented peasants a few centuries ago..

  • Only Treguard could say "Merseyside" in that medievil kind of way lol.

  • Brings back some great memories, thanks for up loading.

  • was treguard on drugs?

  • I'd do her.

  • all this time i thought the maid never actually made an appearance, but i guess she did, (i'm assuming that that's her @ 4:18)

  • that queen girl's hot!

  • you are a queen

  • I always like the way the life force always has the heartbeat system during the sequence it starts slow then gets faster genius

  • yeah, it's creepy as hell

  • VERY creepy indeed. *has jibblies*

  • Treguard: 'I think you can trust her team.'

Kid: 'I don't think we can trust her.'

    @-@

  • id love it if they brought it back but in the original design, not like the outdoor one with the dragon

  • they would have to bring it back like this tho... it wouldnt be the same without the retro ness... such a classic x

  • totally. the hand painted dungeons have a more mythical and realistic vibe than all the cg crap from the later seasons, and if they brought it back i'm sure it was just be cg and would look rubbish (coz the budget would be tiny).

  • I used to love the recap at the beginning. This show had so much atmosphere and tension.

They just dont put the same effort in tv nowadays. :-(

  • Totally, this show should be remade in this format, they missed a real opportunity when all the rage was harry potter and lord of the rings.
