Whenever a cashier asks me for my phone number or any other stupid piece of unneccessary info, I tell them flat out "no". My purchasing of a pack of gum does not give you the automatic right to have my phone number or zip code to be entered into your computer system. You provide the goods, I'll give you the money, and now I'll be on my way. See how simple that is?
