Greetings: May I please make a suggestion? I suggest that you take some Papaver orientalis pollen and apply that pollen to the stamen of your P. peonyflorum or a similar annual poppy as pictured above. If you persevere, you will end up with seeds which will produce a poppy which will have multiple flowers on a single stem, much like a hollyhock. The seeds you will collect from this hybrid won't germinate though, It will be like a "mule" . It's worth a try. Good luck.
has your poppies ever sprouted 3-4 poppy pods per plant and you think i should thin them out?????
