  • Jack Blades was gettn' down!

  • Ted and all of the guys are great here! This was the good stuff! (80's)....Ted can still kick a**....

  • Ted will say what the f%ck he wants and play guitar the way he wants. That is what makes him a legend, unlike the garbage being processed today in music.

  • he knows his business

  • Taped this off the tube along with many other band's performances from the early 80's onward. Most of the tapes blew up yrs ago.Nice to see it again.

    Thanks for sharing it.

  • I remember in 91 i was playing this in our set at 19. Played clubs, you know, got the X put on my hand , had to get our shit and go the second we were done. Two years later when i was old enough to hang out ? No one cared about this type of music. I was born about 10 years too late. Fuck Nirvana.

  • I bet Ted never let Tommy take one guitar solo the whole time they were in the band.

  • I like thinking of Ted as a lovable douche bag rather than the douche bag he's become.

  • i was 10 in 1990. i bought this the same day i bought Aerosmith's Pump album. first two ROCK records i ever owned. from there it snowballed from Guns n Roses ---> to Nirvana-- and eventually to METALLICA.

  • Bands like this are rock and roll. Not a bunch of punks that sound like every other band that is popular now. The great thing about them is personality and originality!

  • Tommy Shaw! lol! Who knew!

  • FULL TIME, DAVE!

  • Great live band! Ted shot a flaming arrow across the stage!

  • Nice moves 1:18

  • THE MOTOR CITY MADMAN RULES!!!!!! So cool to see Paul Shaeffer rockin it out with ted. Tons of fun.

  • To the idiot "kids" who think you have to look like or sound like or become something different just to fit in, will realize someday that we ALL die. If you don't live your life just as exactly like you want to, you're a fool. Moral to this story? Dress how YOU want. Grow your hair long or be bald. Play the music YOU love. Screw all you cowards and morons who are too stupid and afraid to do that. Someday YOU too will be just as dead as the rest of us who WILL do & play what we want.

  • Jack Blades is so hyperactive. XD He never stops jumping around and moving

  • Why is Ted acting like Rick Nielson??????.........Sounds awesome

  • the night the windows got blown out of NBC--no way I can imagine being in that audience -- "a new band"--- lead singers from 3 great bands in one band--thanks for posting--what a moment in time

  • I'll always remember seeing some mullet haired dude rocking a damn yankees 'yank this' shirt at my local mall sometime in the early-mid 90s. The dude was a timeless cliche and the mental picture still cracks me up.

  • They perfected 80s hair, but they did it too late. The 80s were already over. They just didn't have a chance.

  • they're doing a concert on TV. are full length jeans too much to ask for? hide those skinny legs. cheesy.

  • Cool they had the guitar backdrop there, with BC RICH BICH in the window too. What do you get when you combine Will Lee, Anton Figg, Paul S, and the World's Most Dangerous Band along with the Damn Yankees?!?! Well, naturally, one heckuva live show! I missed this, but had I known, I would have certainly archived it

  • Liked everything all these guys did separately but Ted Nugent doesn't fit in here.

  • @atomicpunk48 He stands out. The Damn Yankees were a fine band, dude, I am hoping for a third album from them

  • @MetallicBill You're right. I think you misunderstood what I was gettin at. I thought their best songs were HIS. He didn't seem to fit in with their softer stuff.

  • @atomicpunk48 To me, The Nuge is legend, he confused me when he wasn't singing on a song, because sometimes I didn't know it was even him, so don't let his demeanor fool you. On his older DVD, he included a B-day party jam just playing Blues ...his style, but still, not his style

  • @MetallicBill I've seen him live many times. The guy puts on a killer show. I always wondered what happened with him and Derek St. Holmes. Thought they were great together.

  • @atomicpunk48 Derek played with Michael Schenker in his 1984 Live at Hammersmith show, David Mallet directed it. That's worth looking at, and then he also played with Brad Whitford of Aerosmith

  • @MetallicBill I remember the Whitford St. Holmes album and I was a huge Schenker fan back in the UFO days. Oh man can that guy play. Is he still around these days?

  • @atomicpunk48 Yep, SChenker has his own website, since his ex-Wife tried making money off him, against his wishes, that was pretty low down. A couple years back, he had his Ex Sabbath Ozzy moment, reported in Guitar World magazine

  • The Nuge looks HUGE in this video!

  • These guys are my favorite band! It would have been awesome to have been alive when they were still together~ but that's okay, cuz Styx and Night Ranger are epic anyway~

  • @sasoritol I was alive, was not that long ago, I remember 1990, and Knebworth broadcast on radio live at that time, and in 1994, the first Woodstock I could take part in (on PPV)! haha

  • @MetallicBill Well, I wasn't born until 1996, so I wasn't alive back when they were still active ^^;

  • @sasoritol So are you then "Coming of Age"?? I was born August 66! haha

  • I've never seen a band all stay so close together while playing, they had plenty of room

  • @dudeblues10 -- Not really. It looks decent size on TV, but Letterman's studio stage was actually really small.

  • Why does fucking Shaffer have to be part of every act that comes on this show? He should stick to making noises on the keyboard.

  • my my my i cry to this cause i'ma loneny

  • Every guy on that stage rocked!

  • NOBODY loves Ted Nugent more then Ted himself!

  • I dont get why people feel the need to start the flame wars on every fucking video i mean come on? Shut the fuck up n listen to beautiful music.

  • jean shorts. Really. REALLY. lol

  • @gsx600fn I see people wearing those all the time, and have for 30 years. You're talking like it's some kind of out of style relic or something.

  • Internet toughguys make me laugh

  • Cool!!!

  • these guys would be better if they lost nugent--He can take a decent band and turn them into losers in one song.

  • Comment removed

  • @BlankUberAlles

And you can ruin it by opening your gay fucking mouth !! Period

You are one of the reasons this country sucks right now Blanky !!

All you care about is BASHING Nugent and nothing else seems to matter ...FUCK YOU

  • @Masterofpizza12345 Shut the fuck up and deliver the pizza, you zit faced little fucktard. If this country sucks it's because of clowns like nugent and his adoring pack of fagtards like you. What, there must be at least 10 of you queers who think that shitstained draft dodging douchenozzle actually has musical talent. YEAH! HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAH AHAHH!!! HAHAHAH! I WIN! I ALWAYS WIN!!!

  • @Masterofpizza12345

Well well, look who's jerking off to yet another Ted Nugent vid...it's pizza boy Ron! LOL!

This has to be your QUEEREST account yet Ronny...well done tubby !!

  • @Masterofpizza12345

Zodiac loves to listen to Ted while polishing the helmet !!

  • Why does that SKANK Paul Schaefer and Co...have to invade and ruin what could be a decent show ????? Paul Schaefer makes me PUKE !!

  • God damn is Ted a goofy sob. I just love him. He just dosn't give a fuck and thats rock n roll. I saw ted open for Kid Rock and Metallica in 2000. He blew both bands away.

  • Talking of anton does anyone remember that he was on a kiss record he filled in for peter criss plus he was an origional member of frehleys comet ace frehley of kiss band

  • Has a nice ring to it:

"Damn Yankees and the World's Most Dangerous Band".

    Also redundant.

  • I love this song and Nugent, but they could definitely use some costume help here. Geez.

  • @openroad88 Uhh...okay.

You mean it's not enough that it's Tommy Shaw of Styx, Jack Blades of Night Ranger, Ted Nugent, and Todd Sucherman...they don't meet FASHION muster?

When you're that rich, that talented, and that well known, I'm pretty sure you wear what the hell you want.

  • @OneVoiceMore Not todd but...Michael cartelone, now in lynard skynard!

  • i hate hair bands

  • @kcfd06 Great. Now we all know.

Make sure and post up when we need to care.

  • @OneVoiceMore haha i bet your the guy who still lives in the 80's

  • @kcfd06 hahaha rocken your jean shorts, white trash!!!

  • @kcfd06 You're quite a piece of troll work. These guys are all millionaires, talented, and write their own tickets. I guess that's why you need to tear them down. Do you think it says more about them or you?

Don't bother answering. You're no one.

  • @OneVoiceMore hahaha your pathetic this music is shit! no wonder you like it so much!im no one?i can guarantee i have done more for this country than you ever have!!! i served my time in Iraq and currently working for the boarder patrol in Arizona! and ya its kcfd06 because that means Kansas city fire department! get outta here!!!

  • @kcfd06 Look fucktard, I served my time before you were born. You have no traction here. You're just trolling music videos and pretending heroism.

You seem to think anything you do matters a little bit to me. It doesn't.

I like my music. You have a problem with it. Guess who's problem it is?

So deal with your problem. I'd start by growing up, wannabe.

  • @OneVoiceMore your such a ignorant fuck! you think your better than me because you were born before me? sounds like your the one who need to grow up! your still living in the 80's! you did your time huh! Boy scouts don't count! get out of your moms basement and your band isnt gonna make it! AND THIS SONG IS STILL SHIT!!!!

  • @kcfd06 Yeah, you sound really stable, 'soldier'. So, you're not 'pretending' to be a hero. You're actually a hero, huh?

BORN before you? I was honorably discharged before you, and this whole "I'm a soldier so I can be a whiny dickwad" schtick gets no traction with me. None at all. You're not defending a thing in Iraq. You -are- OFFENDING a thing or two here.

I don't need your permission to enjoy my music, and I'm not the least worried that standing right in your face, I'd say the same thing.

  • @OneVoiceMore You and i both know your old ass wouldn't be talking all this shit if you were standing in front of me!!! enjoy your shitty music and your shitty life! im done wasting my time with you!

  • Respond to this video... pretending huh! well i know that im not pretending! and so does the 129th HET im leaving again for another 13 months! so fuck you onevoicemore! while your sitting at home jacking off to ted ill be defending this country again!!!

  • @kcfd06

Defending us from what ? Please fill us in how killing Afghans or Iraqians benefits us simple people in the US ? I wake up every day glad to not see some foreign fuck draining my gas tank ...You have been fooled to think that Bush Jr. was a smart man .... He is the reason America has wasted billions of dollars fighting nothing but BULLSHIT !! You proud of that ? Think about it

  • @Masterofpizza12345 you hippie fucking liberal!!! i fought for this country so your fat ass dont have too!!! its a shame people like you claim AMERICAN!! if you dont like it do something about it!

  • @kcfd06

How about sending your dumb ass 2 dolllars bro? For bus fare to your next unemployment line...

Now be a good loser and crawl back to your hole kid.... All US engagements have been worthless since WW2 ...Capiche ..?. America continues to fight needless battles ever since Vietnam ....

PERIOD ..... Enjoy that 2nd stripe KID.... Hope you have all your arms and legs ....

Hope Bush sent you a signed copy of his latest book.........I am a MORON ####

  • @Masterofpizza12345

    FUCK ALL THIS WAR TALK!!

ON YOUR KNEES & DRAIN ZODIAC'S BALLS PIZZA BOY!!

    LAP IT UP GOOD NOW!!

  • @kcfd06 Wake up, Rip Van. All of these guys still perform, and have been chartbusters longer than you've been a wanker.

  • whats the deal with all the extra musicians? lol

  • @Montyg213

That's Paul Schaefer and Co.....horning in on some fame ......f-em

  • ahh the good old days when the whole band could sing and play and just rock your socks off.

  • ted nugent?nugelaaaarrrr explosion!hahaha..bless you ted!ur one of a kind!

  • Oh how the times have changed??? This was there first tour and I saw Ted shoot a "flaming" arrow. Second tour...no flame. lol.

  • Love the Beavis and Butthead outfit Tommy.

  • being on letterman sucks because that idiot paul scheffer and his band has to join in every time and ruin it. Ted is ridiculous acting like he's tweaking big time. I wish he'd take those arrows he has on his back and take out scheffer and his weannies.

  • The reason why there are so many musicians in this is because when you appear on Letterman's show, artists are made to sign a contract that allows their musicians to play along with the artist if they so choose. It doesn't always happen, but in this case, it did, and it ruined it beacause the band on its own stands up just fine. In fact, I am surprised Ted agreed to sign the contract.

  • @romeokid69 ... and I'm sure Damn Yankees signed the contract BECAUSE Paul, Sid, Will, and Anton were, and still are, one of the best sounding live bands ever!

  • is it just me , or does ted look like an idiot?..

  • At :13 secs 'DAVE: Ted, are you still the motorcity madman? TED: Full time Dave, full time!!' Ha! Ha! Ha! Rock N Roll/Hard Rock's not only the best music but also the funniest!!

  • omg! this band sucks so bad.

  • Dammit, we need the Damn Yankees 3 cd already!

  • Tommy Shaw dresses like Beavis and Butthead. Nugent always looks like a horny chick.

  • Ted Nugent 5' 11¾" (1.82 m)

    Tommy Shaw 5' 5½"

Jack Blades ??? Couldn't find his height, but it explains why Ted looks like a giant.

  • Why the hell do they need FOUR guitar players? (Yes, I realize Blades is playing the bass) I'm jus sayin.....

  • @PizmoBeach1 I think the only answer to that would be "why not?" Is there a rule in the society of bands that says you can't have more then one bass, one lead, and one rhythm?

  • man, they look so comfortable dont they.everytime i see a band on letterman they look so stiff and scared, but these dudes r so relaxed man!awesome!

  • I was at that show in Dallas The Q102 blood drive Thanks for giving show........

    It did rock

  • Ahhhh the 80's... When a muscle shirt and long hair was cool. LOL.

  • I don't think Ted has been on Letterman since he called Letterman's Messiah a Piece of Shit.

  • I seen that tour w/Bad Co. and even though I like Bad Co. Damn Yankees put on such a great set, we left when Bad Co. come on.

  • I saw Damn Yankees and Bad Co. in Burlington Vt. back in '91. What a great show!

  • blacknightaudio, last time i checked, it was still a free country, thus the reason i posted comments and listened to the song. also have the right to express my opinions. lastly, just because of platinum record sales to idoits such as your self does not constitute a good group. lots of groups sell albums of music that is of low quality, in my opinion. individually these guys were phenomenal, but as a group, they never pulled together quality songs that are enjoyable to me.

  • HAHAHAHA the best GUITAR BLUES ted nugent

    BEST DRUMMER michael

TOMMY and JACK SO GOOD VOICE live performance

DAMN YANKEES cd 1990 and 1992 IS PURE ROCK AND ROLL

    yeahh

  • This album still rocks!

  • Why is that one guy wearing a quiver?

  • @slcpetit DONT CALL TED NUGENT 'THAT ONE GUY' AND HES WEARING A QUIVER BECAUSE HE CAN, BECAUSE HES TED NUGENT, AND TED NUGENT WEARS QUIVERS.

  • Only because Paul Shaffer and his band aren't good enough to be on the same stage as Damn Yankees. It's absolutely depressing and immoral but politics will set in and take over.

  • this band SUCKS, what a mess. great careers and insinct with previous bands, but this group NEVER pulled it together : (

  • @NorthwestWrestle Dude you are so full of shit. Damn Yankees were awesome.

  • @NorthwestWrestle Sucks? Why waste your time listening and commenting, if you don't even like the group/ song? So a double platinum first album, with chart topping songs, (for example: this song hit #2 on the rock charts), a platinum second album, also with songs hitting high on the charts, getting ready to release and tour on a third, and they never pulled it together? Did daddy not pay enough attention to you? Damn, what are you 12? Talk about inane comments...

  • ha, remember those CD BOXES! lol.

  • Why the "f" don't they make music like this anymore?

    Nowadays, they are so weak.

  • Different styles. Ain't it great? Nugent, Shaw, Paige, Beck, Clapton, Van Halen, Montrose, Hendrix, Knoffler, Gilmore, Help me here now, Rossington, Collins, Allman, Betts, Hell, Robbie Robertson, and on , and on, and on.........Yeah.

  • @ 1:07 . The most fun that dude on the left has ever had!

  • I think that is Sid McGinnis and obviously he has had more fun than that. Look him up and you will see.

  • @Superapeaholic ... Sid McGuinness ALWAYS has fun like that!! You're not a Letterman fan, I guess. lol.

  • @Superapeaholic Sid? Sid is rockin'. much like he used to every night back in the day, when The World's Most Dangerous Band stomped the landscape.

  • The nuge probably learned alot from Tommy Shaw

  • Im confused by that comment...da Nuge was playing live when Shaw was still suckin on his mommas teets

  • @GreenManalichi Regardless, Shaw is a superior musician and intellect.

  • @hojorocks3 - Intellect I agree on, but Nuges style, while irratic IMO, differs with TS's...Same as SRV and Page...neither are superior over another...their styles just differ

  • @GreenManalichi I figured if you commented on this you were probably a nuge fanatic. I find most nuge fanatics adopt his personality traits. I was just seeing what kind of shitstorm I could bring down on myself by saying that. Honestly I think he's a great guitarist, but I'm a much bigger Styx fan. Also I think that as good as ted is, many of his songs are terrible. They'd be better without lyrics.

  • Oh no...dont get me wrong..I was NEVER a Nuge "fan"...I agree with you..I couldnt stand listening to more than 5 minutes of his music...Im more a Gilmore or Rossington fan...Styx were a great band, and the Damn Yankees were a good band. Im not taking anything away from Tommy. I just dont compare these 2 since they were very different in styles.

  • not even his amboy duke stuff? you can't be serious. he has some quality stuff out there man.

  • I can listen to him play, but for me...he's all over the place. I enjoy listening to guitarists who are more melodic. Listen to Nuge and than Pink Floyd...Gilmore makes his guitar speak a language...Nuge just makes his scream like an angry wife LOL

  • You can't really compare SRV and Page. It's no contest, while Jimmie Page may have written some of the most classic licks of all time, Live he was the sloppiest player ever. SRV was a guitar god, the man was absolutely incredible.

  • Cool paint job on Ted's PRS. He looks out of place with the rest of the band.

  • ted nugent looks bored !! the most quiet performance ive ever saw of him!!

  • He was tucked in a corner. You just know if he had a full stage one of those arrows was going to be shot!

  • He looks like an idiot with the arrows on his back

  • Careful what you say about Uncle Ted!

  • Fabulous playing from Uncle Ted!!!

  • Is that Eddie on drums? ;)

  • fuck you dave is cool you suck cocks ass hole have a nice day fuck head

  • @tricksshomagic daves a liberal jew fuckign pussy fuck him

  • carefull studio guys don't out play uncle ted

  • Two & a half minutes in... they say SHIT?

I don't think that's how it goes, is it?

  • Great!!!!!!!!!!

  • A thing of beauty...TIGHT performance of one of my fave DY songs...totally ROCKED Letterman's world - which his musical guests rarely do

Ted's really in his element here (but then when ISN'T he? LOL); the quiver of arrows is an esp. nice touch. Looks like he also convinced Tommy to go with the shorts look -- something u rarely see rockers wearing (other than Angus Young's signature Aussie schoolboy outfit, lol)

  • letterman having Nugent on? that's like obama inviting Cheney over for dinner (although they are related).

  • Ted Nugent and Tommy Shaw in the same band. I guess I had to see it to believe it. And why is Ted playing a tiny PRS? He should be playing a big-ass Gibson Byrdland. Something is really not right here.

  • Only Nugent can make a PRS look THAT small.

  • And that's why it looks so not gonzo. Nugent and Gibson: two tastes that taste great together.

  • Hey Bearmare, you DO realize that was 20 years ago right? Same for you mojo4404....you children make me laugh...

  • Even though Ted isn't living in Michigan anymore, he's still our motor city mad man!!

  • AWESOME... letterman never devseved a band this good on his show cos he is a wanker

  • I'd love it, if these guys would get back together for one more album and tour. I'd definitely go see them live.

  • me too!

  • Better yet - their bands go on one monster tour. Think about it - Ted Nugent, Styx, Night Ranger and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  • Killer vocal harmonies and guitar tone/chops. Thank you Ted

  • Ted is fuckin crazy and genius!!!!:D

  • You're a fuckin' douchebag dude, Ted nuggent is awesome!!

  • Run out of room for ted on the right or what? Lets keep him squeezed in there it look better that way

  • Letterman had hair?

  • more shit

  • Tommy Shaw when singing solo has a pretty good voice....When he sings harmony he always nails his notes, and is one of the best harmonizers....I think he has always been as a Guitarist/Vocalist

  • I swear, Jack must've been a caffeine freak in those days. WHY THE HELL is the Paul Schafer band playing with them????

  • Back then all performing artists had to contractually agree to play with the house band. I think it was to avoid bands from either going too long or thinking they could do or play anything they wanted. I think it was a CBS thing.

  • I'll give you that the song is awesome, but Ted Nugent is an intolerant Christian conservative.

  • Teds a scumbag,he is a draft dodger, child molester, adulterer that needs to be incarcerated for his crimes against children(anyone under 18).

  • you`re an idiot....

  • Well he is.The truth hurts, I know, when bill Clinton was accused of dodging the draft i was hurt, but i got over it.

  • I 2nd that, you're are an idiot!

  • Never denied that,did ya.

  • im a draft dodger.,

    and i'll admit it.

    Escaped to Montreal in 68.

    go ahead be ashamed,

but i'd rather not drop bombs on innocent people.

  • Do you go around supporting the illegal iraq invasion.

  • Love Ted,great American

  • Saw them live back in the 90's, with Bad Company. We had front row center stage seats...Ted licked his lips at me & threw me some guitar picks, Goooood Times! (:D)

  • Damn Yankees and Bad Co. together. Man, that is a show I would love to have seen. Ted is the man and Paul Rodgers has the best voice in rock-n-roll ever.

  • When the Damn Yankees and Bad Co toured together that year, it was the Brian Howe led version of Bad Co. Still not bad, but he's no Paul Rodgers.

  • @Slimster22 Ted is a woman.

  • @Slimster22

You 4-got about Steve Perry bro ....

  • @Slimster22 I saw that show in Kingston and Paul Rogers was not with Bad Company at that time. It was an epic show none the less and both bands were absolutely phenomenal live.

  • real rock.
