A chevy small block 305 is a great engine! You can run the shit out of them and still run awesome. I have a '87 IROC-Z with the stock 305/210 hp. I've done few mods to it, cam, supercomp headers, exhaust. And its fast enough and runs great.

hows this car run still being a 305? ive had many Ls1's and Lt1's and i currently have a 91 RS with the 305, my brother bought it new and it only has 30k orignial miles i don't wanna scrap the 305 but everyone tells me you can't get any "real"power from it, you have any dyno numbers on this car? or 1/4 mile times?

@treyofour I've heard that the difference in horsepower is only really felt at very high speeds. I read a comparison somewhere and I don't remember the numbers exactly, but the 350 didn't seem to have a huge advantage. Of course there was a difference, but it's far from underpowered.

@treyofour dude upgrade to the 5.7 lol. just think about it. you can only get so much air in and out of the 5.0/ just upgrading to the 350 would be an upgrade for the better. its a more common engine. parts are easier to find. cheaper to get. and the performance will blow you away. 305 just wont cut it after you build a 350. lol. no affense to the guy in the vid.

did you stay with the TPI setup? i have an 87 iroc with only 68 thousand original miles, its all stock and looking to hop it up, ive got 3 inch exhaust, long tube headers and 3.70 gears, just wondering what anyone would suggest to do next, i was thinking cam, but would the cam do any justice without new heads? thanks ahead of time

Ik this is a little old but if you gonna recam it with an over sized cam you need new valve springs valve spring locks and retainers, new timing chain roller rocker and as far as new heads as long as you dont go with an extremely aggresive cam you should be fine. Oh and another good thing would be posi if yours doesn't have it.(Some older model V8s don't have posi)

I have a stock 88 c4 vette. i've done some minor performance work, but as we all know we want it all and we want it now. I need to shake up my exhaust and sound. i like to let my neighbors know when i am home, etc. SERIOUSLY ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED AND RETURNED. HOW AND WHERE AND WHAT WOULD YOU RECCOMEND FOR ME TO PUT ON OR RE DO MY EXHAUST TO SOUND LIKE YOUR RAMMBLE (ON ROSE) AND INCRASE HP AS WELL AT MY LOWEST COST. I'M LOOKING AT USED BUT CAN'T FIND ANY.
