LAV's have infinite acceleration. They key is to build up velocity by getting yourself stuck on something and going full bore for a minute or two, then get knocked off by something and careen into the water. Your velocity will send you flying.

The physics in frostbite overcompensate with the lav when it goes to float in the water.

The trick is to approach the water at a steep angle or to make a jump into it. It'll try to counteract it in an extreme way.
