@muhideen Yet, as devastating as that punch might have seemed, notice how quickly Duran recovered from it. In my opinion, Thomas Hearns wasn't that great while boxing is pretentious. The MMA is just more realistic. Note how Forrest Grffin submitted Shogun, Rashad Evans submitted Forrest Griffin, Machita submits Rashad Evans, and, to complete the circle, Shogun submitted Machita. If you ain't getting your ass knocked out, then you are hiding pretending to be a fighter in boxing.

@MisterNifty What are you talking about....All of those fights were TKO's or KO's...all except Griffin vs Shogun. hearns was great. That knockout is one of the most Famos knockouts in Boxing History. Every one Feared the right hand of Hearns

@DerrickHair Indeed, Hearns had a combination which no one really figured out. But if you could figure out how to survive beyond the third round, that arm of Hearns became ineffective. Duran fought like a dumbass in this fight. He was a real clown. A duffass. Hearns on the other hand was a scrawny assed punk.

This fight convinced hearns that he was ready for Hagler, being that Duran had gone the distance with Hagler, and he had knocked Duran out so convincingly. He had no idea that Hagler's head was harder than his killer right hand... Styles makes fights.

@lovembig41 That is so true. It's funny to me, too, that Hagler is rarely talked about as greatest fighter ever with a record of 62-3 against some of the greatest fighters ever. I never cared for the guy but he was some kind of tough. I always like Sugar Ray Leonard the best, but loved Hearns and Duran, too.
