I think they're wrapped in quilts because she forced them to give her their clothes to wash them. Part of her determination to change her environment rather than succumb to it.
i remember when i did this show and those poor boys had that rediculously fast costume change and we had this two-story house set upstage and the boys had to strip to their skivvies right behind it. haha. i love this show so much!
this is my favorite musical! i wish our high school could do it, but we are way to small! btw, who's production is this?

In the play, it's just a social and not a barn-raising, I believe. But there's a lot of dancing (and fighting)!
