Can someone tell me what is the difference between Mech and light infantry?

@LandForceCommand Um I think Mechanised infantry are usually assigned to an Infantry Fighting Vehicle such as the Warrior IFV and deploy from it when engaging the enemy while Light Infantry deploy from regular vehicles such as the Snatch Land Rover or Jackle or on foot, I'm not in the army so I can't say but I think that if your a mech infantry you'll work around armored vehicles alot, manning the gun and acting as support for the vehicle.

And recently they've been making commercials that starts out with some sci fi, HALO, like soldiers running around and then it cuts to the real thing. LOL. Its strange. You have people here in the States that will call anyone who says the war sucks a traitor, but the military spends half of its time prosecuting people for smacking around hajis. How do they expect you to do your job when you're constantly worried about going to jail if you shoot at someone? Its insane. So I got the fuck out.

I think what they try to do is to lure someone in with the uniform and standing tall with pride of being in. Which is great! But, we do lack the fighting aspect, which i think is needed. You got a good point, sir!

Yeah, that's true. There's a large difference in the two country's ads. British pretty much says "You'll be in scary places, you'll get shot at. You might die" Which is a hell of a lot more honest! ha! Ours have a bit of a softer tone, saying youll serve with pride, and you'll get shiny toys when your in AND after!" Which is a tid bit deceiving. haha, I like the British ones. Very straight forward, very kickass and in your face. Im sure they're very effective! wish we had em

Armoured Infantry - armoured infantry are equipped with the Warrior armoured personnel carrier, a tracked vehicle that can deploy over all terrain.

Mechanised Infantry - mechanised infantry are equipped with the Saxon armoured personnel carrier, a wheeled vehicle that can be deployed over rough terrain, but is primarily a road vehicle. Saxon is in the process of being replaced by the Bulldog tracked vehicle.
