How did you wire them up? I took apart an iMac g3 today and gave one speaker to my friend, so I need a way to wire up the one speaker.

very good mate, great sound for cardboard, but i really dont think they need an amp coz they are like what, inch inch n half speakers so puting an amp on them would blow them, but still nice

yeah, what virtuvozas said...put 'em in a wooden box...what happens is sound comes from the front and behind the speaker, and the wood surface is hard so the reverb would make it sound louder and better.

You need an amp so that you can power the speakers from external power source such as batteries.

you can get an amp from eBay, I got one. It's a china but it works fairly well for one, what hate about it though, you have to buy the home adapter separately. It's like $13, but still, it'd be better if it was included with the stupid amp. look up Mp3, computer speaker amp.

i have som eof those spekers and did something like you did. i would not recomend an amplifire because those are only 1/2 watt speakers. when i plugd mine into my ipod it distorted the speaker.

how did you wire the mac speaker to the headphone jack or whatever

circle it around the contacts (on the speaker). Soldering helps, but not necessary.

i think those speakers are old harman/kardon ones. they sound really good and can really fill a room if u power them with an amp.

I just built some subwoofer cabinets for my home stereo so I can relate in a way. Its fun to build stuff.

As for what I'd think of your box, well its hard to say. I mean its just a cardboard box mostly so its hard to get excited over that. I'd say that if you got some quarter inch wood and made mini boxes for those 1" speakers, then it would be more interesting and would probably sound much better. Might consider a little sound dampening inside the mini boxes.

Also ya you'd need an amp.

you should buy a small amplifier for them (maybe 10x2 watts)

these are pretty good speakers and they should sound pretty good
