  • Elman's playing, though lacks the perfect techniques many people demands, makes one wonder what's the fast and soulless showoff in many modern violin play is all about. This wonderful piece tells a powerful, sad, struggling and defiant till the end story, much like the professional career of Mischa Elman himself.

  • Interesting-- much slower than how I was taught and how others such as Perlman play it. Kind of nice for a switch, though...definitely schmaltzy and romantic.
