  • i just ordered the embodied mind a few days ago. looking forward i tell you!

and: where's you noiseless fan sponsor gig going to land??

  • anyway, it (your varela) smells like heidegger..

did you read jans jonas' 'the phenomenon of life' there's an (among other equally) really nice essay called 'materialism, determinism and the mind' you'll love it. also an essay on whitehead, also, also, also... yeah, really highly recommended book for you... you probably already have it though.

  • Thank you for these names and ideas. As always, you have an incredible amount of energy for thinking and ideas, you are a real conduit. I think knowledge of these thinkers will help me to understand people from my past I hadn't understood well. Good show, good show, sir, good show.

  • Since the psyche is not bound by linear time, as is the physical conscious self, true romantic connectivity activism beween two organisms is not linear time limited, per se, and may extend over past, present and to a certain extent, the future. However, the physical conscious self ony exists in the present, so interactions between one's psyche in past and future domains is, itself, limited. So romantic connectivity activism between two organisms in the past and future domains are limited, too.

  • There is a difference beween physical connectivity between organisms that produces a certain activism of simple mutual awareness and higher level metaphysical connectivity between organisms. The former results, in certain cases, in pure physical or biological attraction between the organisms, while the latter, which I call romantic connectivity activism (for obvious reasons) may lead to higher levels of connectivity such as connectivity of the psyche and produce romantic passion.

  • Thought provoking stuff. I found the part of focusing on the experience as the most important thing rather than the knowledge of experience interesting. Kind of makes me think of how people can interpret experience differently, and also of trying to live in the present time instead of the past. I think one can get lost down the rabbit hole with this one. :) Anyway, great video.

  • paterns of activity of motion of becoming of context in unity,,,,beautifuly said, best video matt so far loved it

  • I recently came full circle with nondualism when I finally realized that the concept of a unified reality is only possible when made relative to a fragmented reality. Thus, even non-duality is dual. The more we know, the more of the mystery becomes apparent. The more we understand this is an illusion, the more we realize how real this is. I've finally arrived back at square one in this infinitely deep rabbit hole.

  • conceptualizing is by definition dual cause concepts are distinctions.

thus nonduality cannot be conceptualized/understood but reached by stopping the thinking.

once that happened, everything is ok as it is and doesn't need to be explained.

when the thinking starts again it can now be accepted as an indirect mode of expieriencing that can never be true but simply happens, works and has effects.

  • As my body is one with the waterfall/sky/mountains, I experience union - mind is just vibrating, not thinking, just being. Coming back to my laptop, I watch you and listen as though you are a musician playing a song I like - something new and yet as familiar and old as the hills.

  • its like saying we experience time because we are also made of it

  • for me it is as if we are transfixed (hypnotized) by the experience of the atom ,the atom as a moment of time as duration, but our minds are olso made of atoms which percieves its self as time as duration,?

  • low audio... and attempting too many threads in one khipu (had to look that up). not only your audience but also you seem to be stuck at the loop part of the boot strap methinks. meaning is meaningless. the process does not need meaning, it forms itself of whatever is feeding it. the meaning is accidental, tho significant as far as discerning relations.

i know you are "against" formal systems, but for "rigour" of understanding try for example to implement parser generator out of "nothing".

  • This will bug me forever.

What do you say in between 8:30 and 8:32-4?

After dangerous, and before positive boundaries. Not the most important part. But it's driving me insane.

  • Pretty damn cool, and I had no clue what either of these concepts we're, or the two men involved. I assumed by whitehead you meant the OTHER Whitehead :P

If I would have rated farther along, it would have been 5. Nice vid. Still, I gave you 4 early.

  • When one attempts to clear one's mind, that act is also a conscious effort. We might say "oh look there's thoughts going through my head and I didn't think them on purpose". But there is still purpose in your choice to observe them there and then even if the stillness is not achieved. * Aurobindo also seems to have believed that matter is in some way alive.
