I don't see the floppy arms you're talking about. If anything, their arms and head are very definitely placed. Even SAB students at the same grade couldn't place their arms as consistently as these students do, and SAB is the best ballet school in the States. You want to see floppy arms and wrists? watch a class at SAB. Balanchine technique emphasized many things but careful placement of the arms and the use of the upper body and head were not among them.
@avesraggiana i agree with you. i've had SAB girls come take classes at my studio and their arms are TERRIBLE. i get so angry, why don't they correct them!? nothing like the video here.
Actually, to be honest with you, I do over 20 hours a week dancing. And yes, I looked it up. Vegetarians are slimmer because of the amount of healthy foods they eat. Remember, vegetables are veggies and if u only have vegtables in ur diet, how fat can u be? NADA! Lolz... I dance 5 times a week for 4 hours a day, and thats more than 50 hours a week for the past 10 years!
i'm vegetarian and the same weight as was before i became one.
thats a bullshit assumption though - especially if you found it on the internet. to stay healthy, you need to replace meat with a mixture of carbs and dark green vegetables. if you only eat vegetables thats really unhealthy. your weight is determined by having the right or wrong ratio of fats:carbs:veg:protein.
erm you do realise that such fulltime ballet schools actually CHOOSE the type of body shape of their dancers since young.
Their parents bring them for a full body 'interview' and the madames look for potential since then and look out for things like tailbone arch degree, natural foot arch, thin calves/thighs, body shape etc etc

Assemble is past-tense: they should close in the air. By fifth year they should be much higher, and the assembles should close much sooner. I can see the teacher gives them some simple temps-leve and echappe to try to get them off the ground, but they probably need more. They should use every moment of music they can in the air.
that girl on the far left has the longest legs ever!

@cocobabyballerina The usually start the school at 10 or 11. Since the levels are for each year, these girls are 15 or 16.

I like how uncluttered the combinations are. I feel like teachers just cram a bunch of steps together sometimes...

im not trying to criticise or anything because these girls are really good but they're arms are just not held or supported at all!!
supporting their arms could really help and they just flop them around quite a lot!!
but they're still great dont get me wrong! :D

OMFG... I feel sooo fat compared to them. I am soooo gonna be a vegetarian now!!!
balletbabe95 3 years ago
being vegetarian doesn't make you loose weight.
and don't compare yourself to them unless you have been dancing litterally 50 hours a week for the past 10 years.
they are slim because of the amount of excersize they do. not dieting.
i hate all these proana&dieting comments.

look up a healthy athletes diet. you'll see there are so many carbs!! cos they also need slowrealease glucose.
if you just look for it generally, you'll find loads of pro ana stuff and unscientifical stuff people have made up.
plus, it is a known that unless you eat protein after excercise, you won't have gained any strencth at all.
