@lurch1489 I don't "think" of the power Im making, a little thing called a dyno tells me that i can make about 710 to the wheels...I have only seen 1 other s4 that has made more power than mine has. a stock b5 s4 takes g35's that have a 36hp advantage and rwd.
@lurch1489 haha People understimate the power of the s4 all the time and very few people know the potential they have. major mods are a .3 liter stroker (so its a 3 liter) and twin garret gt28rs turbo's. my m35 is my daily driver. it got the extra power from full exaust (no headers) because i like it nice and quiet but loud when i want,so hfc,catback,plenum and intake. the mods list would be way to long, i also recently sold my stage 2 b7 a4 and picked up a g35 sedan thats got a 6 speed
@lurch1489 and already has a tt setup on it thats 378rwhp on street tune and around 460 on a race tune, the engine isant fully built so going to levals beyond 10psi is a bit risky,but its diffentally a family car with some major balls. but my s4 is basically staying garaged (pulling it out a couple times a year) and keeping it for 1 of my kids as like a graduation gift or somthing in the future

It is just about how much money you want to put in it ;) lol I am into the sleeper crowd being that I have a 4door GTP haha no dyno for it yet but I ran 12.7@111mph with a 2.1 60ft. it was also 90* out with 80% humidity, so just about the worst conditions possible. My next project that I would like to do is a turbo 3800 in a fiero.

@Rampede The car in this vid is the ecotec model with 140hp stock, i have a z24 with the 24, its a 98. Chevrolet didn't put the twin cam 2.4 in this model cavalier, they stopped using it in 2002. This car is a 2003 or newer model. The old 2.2 cavaliers, the non ecotecs did make like 115 hp stock. The car in this vid is def not making 400 hp though, I agree with you there haha.

to get 400hp you'd literally have to completely rebuild the entire engine, and drop the weight of the interior without making it look ridiculous, with about $13,000-$15,000 it could be done and it would be one hell of an opponent on the street haha
@peakz28 Correct, also keep in mind that dropping the weight helps the cars handling, and braking as well.. Having lots of power sure helps but dropping the weight of a car can help all areas of performance.
@peakz28 course it effects horsepower. power=work/time, work=forcexdistance, force=massxacceleration. by decreasing the mass you decrease the force. assuming the car runs the same distance that you measured with the first time, the work is actually less. and if the work is less and the time remains the same, you have more power. and just a side note, 1 horsepower=746 joules. it will not effect the horspower at the crankshaft (where it is measured for car commercials and stuff)but will at wheels.
@richardjburke power=work/seconds. as i showed above work=fxd, by decreasing the weight, the less power the engine would need to create to get to the same speed as compared to the same car with more weight which would take longer assuming the same amount of horsepower could be generated. by decreasing the weight you in turn increase horsepower at the wheels.

@KcImport32 Not entirely true... 400hp isnt hard to reach. Pistons/rods-$700. Valvetrain-$1100. Turbo "kit"- $1000-3000. You can get to that number with just a few grand. Im running an 03 cavy on 8psi right now with a turbo setup that only cost me 1k. Hitting about 230hp with only a mechanical tune. All stock internals.

@lurch1489 haha People understimate the power of the s4 all the time and very few people know the potential they have. major mods are a .3 liter stroker (so its a 3 liter) and twin garret gt28rs turbo's. my m35 is my daily driver. it got the extra power from full exaust (no headers) because i like it nice and quiet but loud when i want,so hfc,catback,plenum and intake. the mods list would be way to long, i also recently sold my stage 2 b7 a4 and picked up a g35 sedan thats got a 6 speed

@lurch1489 and already has a tt setup on it thats 378rwhp on street tune and around 460 on a race tune, the engine isant fully built so going to levals beyond 10psi is a bit risky,but its diffentally a family car with some major balls. but my s4 is basically staying garaged (pulling it out a couple times a year) and keeping it for 1 of my kids as like a graduation gift or somthing in the future

My next project that I would like to do is a turbo 3800 in a fiero.

no they make about 105-110...and if you have the 2.4 your makin about 140-150 stock.....i know i own one. unless you get like a BAD ASS turbo...not a 900 dollar ebay turbo...then it MIGHT be possible...but a 900$ turbo alone is not going to make a cav put out 400...not a chance in hell.

@Rampede The car in this vid is the ecotec model with 140hp stock, i have a z24 with the 24, its a 98. Chevrolet didn't put the twin cam 2.4 in this model cavalier, they stopped using it in 2002. This car is a 2003 or newer model. The old 2.2 cavaliers, the non ecotecs did make like 115 hp stock. The car in this vid is def not making 400 hp though, I agree with you there haha.

@peakz28 course it effects horsepower. power=work/time, work=forcexdistance, force=massxacceleration. by decreasing the mass you decrease the force. assuming the car runs the same distance that you measured with the first time, the work is actually less. and if the work is less and the time remains the same, you have more power. and just a side note, 1 horsepower=746 joules. it will not effect the horspower at the crankshaft (where it is measured for car commercials and stuff)but will at wheels.

@richardjburke power=work/seconds. as i showed above work=fxd, by decreasing the weight, the less power the engine would need to create to get to the same speed as compared to the same car with more weight which would take longer assuming the same amount of horsepower could be generated. by decreasing the weight you in turn increase horsepower at the wheels.

@KcImport32 Not entirely true... 400hp isnt hard to reach. Pistons/rods-$700. Valvetrain-$1100. Turbo "kit"- $1000-3000. You can get to that number with just a few grand. Im running an 03 cavy on 8psi right now with a turbo setup that only cost me 1k. Hitting about 230hp with only a mechanical tune. All stock internals.
