I love this episode from "back in the day" it was taped. That's me in the second game. I think I'll attempt to locate Ruth and Debbie. Maybe we can form a singing group. Ruth and The Contenders; Debbie and The Dentynes (it was a consolation prize from this episode); David and the I Sees (another consolation prize). I'm so happy to see this. Thanks for posting it.
@ErniePaulGeorge Dick Cavett did anything to show up the judges and Dick Clark; he knew he wouldn't get away with it, just enough for the judges to put him in his place. Still one of the better Pyramid players, despite hamming it up.
Good stuff; thanks! Amazing what dignified celebrities did back then. Can you see, say Leno, Letterman, or Conan or someone from a respected TV series doing this today?
@gli7utubeo Three thoughts.Letterman did appear BEFORE he became famous (search YouTube). In the 70s, it seemed a # of B and A list TV people were on, in the 80s onward they were mainly B list(?) but solid. My guess: look at the Osmond Pyramid guest list or the Millionaire/Super Password versions last decade as potential guests. Finally, if the new Pyramid version finally gets on the air with Andy Ricther on TBS, I wouldn't be shocked to see Conan O"Brien. Thanks, gamelover1949.
@RetroCalgary Back in the early years of the network (the ones that exist from about mid-1978 to the end) and about 2002-03 as part of Pyramid Thursdays, it did.
@Hondo20132 I never said it never happened. I doubt they'd allow that to happen today. Then again, their prime-time schedule has no retro shows, so even if it did, nobody would notice.
@Hondo20132 Even I remember GSN airing a 1977 Family Feud and a 1974 Tattletales and a 1973 Match Game and a 1960's I've Got a Secret with at least 1 original commercial break from the master kept in.
@heine71 Okay, I think I also have that '77 Feud episode you're talking about. It was up here posted by David at one point, but I don't know if it still is.

FAMOUS PEOPLE WHO WEAR GLASSES: A stinker. I would have said Peter Marshall. Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Allen Ludden.

One last thought: would motor oil and strawberries work as clues?

23:19 - does anyone recognize that boy in the Snackin' Cake commercial? It's Adam Rich, Nicholas from Eight is Enough.

Did the $20,000 Pyramid era re-runned on GSN?

@gamelover1949 There was also a 1978 episode rerun in 2006 and 2007 during the GSN 50 Greatest Game Shows.

@gamelover1949 And I never said that it never happened. I just thought I'd mention it. Sorry, I should've been more specific.
@MrAamigo I've been considering it, and it'll more likely than not pop up soon.

@MrAamigo Glad to see you are back to bugging everyone for full episodes instead of being grateful for what people can do.

@Hondo20132 That was on my old channel too. I might get back at it in the future.
And it's not a big deal; it's cool that we both have something "unique" from GSN in that era.

@heine71 Do you think those are available ?

GSN rarely aired this. But I liked this version too. Thanks a bunch.
