@1moblin Kariya isn't the sunflower samurai, he's a samurai turned assassin hired by the Shogunate (that "guy" is a Shogunate official). Kariya's mission was to kill the sunflower samurai, he only attempted to kill Jin & Mugen because they were jeopardizing his mission (since he also had to kill Fu). With his original mission completed the Shogunate has no reason to go after Jin, Mugen, or Fu really. Also, the series is from 2004, I doubt they'd make another season seven years later.

She calls her father the sunflower samurai, because when he left the family so that they wouldn't deal with the persecution of his faith, the last thing she saw of him going through a field of sunflowers. Kariya Kagetoki is know as the "divine hand." Not the sunflower samurai.
