I am a canadian and i like him, but i also love to play devils advocate. So here is a scenario!

What if he is acting, i mean what would be anyone's goal to be a president?

What if his goal is not to better people but legacy and he is using the humanitarian ideas because it is the best way to move his agenda forward? Sure he might be nice and all but he could refine that idea till he appeared too nice.

This guy is all smoke and mirrors, and public opinion of him has nowhere to go but down. The sooner people start "playing devils advocate" the better - idealistically and blindly buying every word he says will become something people will be ashamed of having done.

This is really spooky. I'm not sure how to react to a president who is thoughtful, consults with qualified people who have differing opinions, and takes responsibility for policy. It's just.... weird.

I can relate to your comment. The first time I saw Obama at a speaking engagement I was stunned that a politician so personified characteristics that I value and identify with and are more akin to free thinkers than politicians - so in the sense that I can truly understand this 44th President of ours - I'm spooked as well.
