this trailer is not new at all. Don't let it fool you. They're just clips from the game. The game came out a year or two ago, and I've played through it twice. This is not something new. The amazing graphics are just clips from the opening screen. Not impressive. But seeing as this video was submitted so long ago, It may have been new then.

If you would have played every Final Fantasy, you'd notice that none of them are the exact same game. They change it up all the time. Also, your opinion about it being slow and boring is, well, your opinion. Don't say like it's like that for everyone. People who say they should make a different series piss me off. They are making the same game, they have no characters that are similar in each, except for FFX and FFX-2.
The series was originally slated to be one game. The original 'Final Fantasy' was made in response to Square being in a great deal of financial trouble. As a result, they thought that it would be their final game...their 'Final Fantasy' if you will.
Also, the games contain different stories with some similar elements, so please don't go out of your way to judge a game that you haven't played yet.

Wow, apologetic much? :P For all those who place the Japanese voice overs up on some pedestal to be revered, I don't find that they're often much better than the English ones. They're all fairly mediocre video game voice acting to my ears, though that doesn't mean I can't learn to like them.

It was called Final Fantasy 2 on the SNES because it was the second "final fantasy" to come to North America. It was actually the 4th in the series though. Hence why it is now called Final Fantasy 4, because all the Final Fantasy's have been released in North America as they were in Japan.
This is why there originally was a gap between Final Fantasy III (USA) and Final Fantasy VII. FF3 in USA was actually 6, and when they released 7, it was 7 in the USA AND Japan (first time same #)
voicing characters is something they actually have courses for learning to do it for and they're very strict in letting new voice actors into the business.

I'm conflicted. New+ game, and augment system look pretty cool, but the Lunar Ruins, cave of Trials, and ability to play as all characters after the Giant of Babil shouldn't have been dropped.
Still, the Augment system looks a lot like FFV in FFIV and that might be worth the buy.

I slightly agree and disagree...FFIV and FFVI were awesome! I like FFIII, too. But FFVII also had a good storyline, as well. snes version was much better, dont let yourself fool with those ps1 ugly graphics (im talking the actual game graphics, not that intro), 16bit sprites were much better.
Could had a much better remake.

The story and gameplay dosent changes,only that it has "ps1 ugly graphics"and voices,so whats the point?we prefer to play such a great game on a ps1 graphics than playing it on freaking SNES graphics DUH.besides,the icons of SNES are the same as FF1,2,3. so its tiring to see the same thing over and over,just some little changes,just a little,so yeah i guess DS is the way to go.same with FFIII.

oh im just always in the order of the correct one (japan)wich saying it on america its the wrong one,werd huh lol america versions screwed the oder of the games and idk why.
anyways,it is rumored that Square-enix is planning on a remake of FF3 (6 in japan) for DS probably after they they do FF5. its a rumor anymays but hey FFIV on DS was also a rumor so lets see how they go.

FFIV?idk havent played it (yet).it will be worth it'only if youre a FF fan like me and most ppl,or you just are interested on buying an RPG for DS...btw selling ps3 for Wii?im no console fan-boy or anything but...i have a Wii and it isnt that great.i mean,Wii only has few great games like Super Smash Bros brawl(wich is the only reason i got the wii)but lately the wii is getting crappy games...you should not sell your PS3 for wii.specially if youre a FFfan bcause FF13 and FFvs13 is coming to ps3.

thing is re 5 is really the only game that i am really interesred in thats coming out while im still young. ff 13 is still like 20 years off. lol there ore some pretty fun looking games out there wii. galaxy,metoid 3 no more heros. i can get another ps3 later just thiking something different.

wouldn't have sold on PSP because nobody owns a PSP? LOL. Ever heard of FF crisis core?? or heard of the upcoming FF Dissidia and FF XIII agito??? The best portable FF are in the PSP.
