Its a feature of my screen capturing application (ScreenFlow), You can add the Window highlighting and other effects at the Screenflow editing process once the video has been recorded.
on 49: i see the settings that were made so that this was possible everything is the same except where on one of the settings which is the top right one it says settings...that is not an option for me ...why is that?
Alternatively you can use shortcut to lock the screen, all you need is an app called locktight installed, check my channel for the video on it, my favourite method to lock the screen for sure.
@AppScreencast Would be nice since I'm used to "Windows + L" for that purpose on XP, but I just lock my screen when I don't want my nieces messing up my MacBook. I use it so rarely it's not even worth installing an app, configuring the key combo and then memorizing it. But thanks a lot!
Go to System Preferences, then in Security, make sure you have "Require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver" box ticked, in the General Tab section.
Also if you wish to lock your screen using your keyboard, check my responses to this video, its now my prefer method to locking my screen.
thank you very much :)

found an easier way to lock, type keychain access in spotlight and you'll see a lock icon on menu bar. You simply click on this to lock your screen.

I actually added the "Users" icon to the taskbar. When I want to lock the machine, I click on the icon and chose "Login Window..."
I hate those screen corners doing stuff.
