I worked for a boss who was pro-ID and before I knew this I made the mistake of stating in the break room, rather loudly and rather rudely, that I thought that ID was BS. Well, guess who didn't stay at that job for very long!
The theory of evolution is no longer a theory, it has been proven. What the argument has really come to is whether or not man evolved from primates. And how could anybody possibly believe that man coexisted with dinosaurs? Carbon-dating can easily disprove that "theory".
If you dont think evolution can be proven then take a look around you. Evolution is just small amounts of adaptation within a species over a long period of time which eventually becomes so much of a change that a new species is created. Whenever someone asks you "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" you can answer quite assuredly that the egg came first.
we cant prove that we (humans) came about by evolution but we can prove that evolution exists in other things (other animals, plants) Evolution just means that something is changing over time to create a different thing after many cycles of small changes. If you argue that then I'm sorry but I dont know how else to explain.
I dont need a definition of the theory. The one you give is half right, What I asked for is proof. You havent offered any for a good reason, it doesnt exist. Thanks for playing.
Nothing in science can ever be proven. Only in mathematics can something ever be proved. However, due to the overwhelming fossil and DNA evidence among other things the theory of evolution is about as factual as a theory possibly can be.
There is zero proof for macro-evolution. A proper brainwashing by a university is probably necessary to counter this FACT. Unfortunately for you, I dont care to be brainwahed, I'm interested in FACT, not Dogma.
You don't understand evolution. You need to get an education. Go spout your ignorance to an evolutionary biologist and they'll help you...if you're willing to learn.
Since you say there is a mountain of evidence supporting macro evolution, you should have no trouble giving me an example. And lose the namecalling, it makes you look dumb.
I never called you a name, although are many that would suit you.
It's not my job to educate you. If you care about truth, if you care about education, you'll take responsibility for yourself. Go study at a proper university.
Sigh...go to any proper university. Go to the science department and talk with evolutionary biologists. Tell them that "there's no evidence for evolution (micro or macro, however you want to word it)." They will help you.
it has been observed. it exists. get over yourself. you're not right. you're only spouting this bullshit because it's what your religion wants. if your religion were against the theory of plate tectonics, you'd deny that instead. just because we can't SEE the plates moving... yeah?
Here is the evidence of it. Just one example of course. Nylon eating bacteria. And another from talkorigins. org:
While studying the genetics of the evening primrose, Oenothera lamarckiana, de Vries (1905) found an unusual variant among his plants. O. lamarckiana has a chromosome number of 2N = 14. The variant had a chromosome number of 2N = 28. He found that he was unable to breed this variant with O. lamarckiana. He named this new species O. gigas.
Its funny how creationists think that small changes over a small period of time can occur, but not that these small changes added together over a large period of time cannot make big changes. Do you see the faulty logic in this? If not, then you are hopeless.
Well I'll take it upon myself to do the tit for tat.
I've yet to hear an intelligent argument against evolution. If a handful of unsupported claims and creative illustrations has made a dolt of you, then I guess such logic is the equivilent of you eating your own shit...
Hey, that was easy... All I had to do was make unsupported claims and copy off of you! Just like intelligent design...
as a catholic, i feel like intellignet design is a failed compromise between the theory of evolution and creationism. failed in a sense that if something can not be explained with a sizable amount of scientific merit, then "God did it" such as the eyeball (example: "it's too complex to have evolved, so God did it"). it's ok to believe in both science and religion, as long as you can draw your own boundries instead of boundries drawn by extremely biased individuals.
Intelligent design is stupid, but you've got to be careful who you say that around. I once had a boss who was into intelligent design and she found out that I had said something against it... well guess what working there was like for me after that?
This clip speaks against true science. Speaker looks like some random pro-ID whacko! There's plenty of simple and short videos that skillfully debunk creationism. This isn't one of them.
Then explain your understanding of Intelligent Design to us r3dhammer, and how it is different to Creationism, and how it has any scientific merit. At the moment all we need to understand about Intelligent Design is that it purports to be science when it clearly is not.
I saw the "I don't believe" video, and want to see all the vids you posted. I just knew you could hit a "delicate" topic with humour and intelligence! Love it!
Oh, everyone knows humans & dinosaurs were pals - I've seen the Flintstones!
I disagree ElliotReidyFray. Intelligent Design is the Creationists' way of trying to give scientific merit to their cazy ideas, and ultimately get it force-fed to young minds as the truth. If you scratch the surface you see that they're the same thing, with the same proponents.
Oh and this is only your opinion because what they taught me in school+college was evolution, evolution and nothing but evolution... so who is being brainwashed by what? Aren't we brainwashed evolutionists? oh and have you ever read the bible?
im pretty sure the school i went to made me say One nation, Under God everyday. I also remember seeing something about god on the american currency...oh yeah theres also a C.I.A. in my school (christians in action) i asked if i could make an Atheists in Action and they called me a trouble maker...
As soon as you nutjobs can provide credible data for intelligent design, you can teach it in science class. Understand though that intelligent design is not a scientific argument--it is a philosophical one and therefore precludes it from being taught in a science class because it does not provide a testable hypothesis.
I believe in Creation according to the bible and the dinosaurs DID exist with humans and some might even exist today... leviathon maybe? :P Evolution is taught like it is 100% accurate ,but the truth is ...theory over theory... :P liked the video makes you think ...
yeah...i feel bad for some homeschool kids. they have parents who shelter them so much to make sure that the only beleif they have is based on religion and arnt even open to new ideas. when hearing a "researched" essay/speech about evolution vs intelligent design from a 6th grader, pretty much all he said about evolution was "what? like you're gonna come home and all the sudden your dog is a fish?!" o_O

A lot of us are just hippies. :P

In any case, nice video. You do some neat stuff with cutting/effects.
Most people that believe in intelligent design do not believe that man and dinosaur lived at the same time. (not to mention the bible says nothing about dinosaurs and people together). Plus, this science that your talking about is not proven fact so your going off your own faith and the faith of others with isn't much different from religion.
There is a great difference between fundamentalist Christianity and Intelligent design. The man's voice in the background is an example of an uneducated Bible banger. You can be religious and not share these rediculous theories.
I dont really like intelligent design cause i'm an athiest, but...intelligent design doesnt really have anything to do with the bible. People who believe in creationism would say that the dinosaurs werent alive 60million years ago because they read it in the bible, not people who believe intelligent design. Intelligent design is generally just the idea that some greater force had a role in the earth. But nothing specifically about christianity
Go make your own beautiful universe stupid, it's really easy don't ya know? Dur.

I think you've mixed up two different ideas.
-Creationism: The world was created exactly as it is now (with dinosaur bones already placed in the ground just to confuse us) 6000 years ago.
-Intelligent design: The world evolved the way evolutionists say it did, but god personally influenced every single minute mutation and evolution.
Anyway, they're both just lazy, unscientific explanations.
