I know that the americans think that europe history begans with WW2, but thats not right :0 Bulgarians was called "Prussians of the Balkans" becouse of its hight spirit and brave battles. It was NOT the worst thing ever, Bulgaria was forced to join the Axis powers. Threatened by direct military confrontation, Tsar Boris III had no choice but to join the fascist bloc. However the king refused to hand over the Bulgarian Jews to the Nazis, saving some 50,000 lives.His decisions in 1941 avoided lots of casualties in my country.

Who cares if it's a german aircraft? It is a FW-189 with Bulgarian Signs. Also, we shot down a lot of American Bombers. We were always outnumbered, and Bulgaria was with Germany till 1944 but it's not Nazi territory, it is Bulgarian territory. Bombers are not easy targets. B-24 Liberators and B-17 Flying Fortresses have a lot of firepower when they fly in formation. Our BF-109 G-2 and G-6 are way better than your P-38 Lighting. From 1944-1945, we fought vs Germans and liberated Yougoslavia !

If you saw a video about Dimitar Spisarevski hitting a bomber, this does not mean that all Bulgarian Pilots were doing this. Dimitar Spisarevski and Nedelcho Bonchev were the only two who died for their country by showing this. At first, Spisarevski's plane couldn't start up when the bombers were coming. So he had to fly with a reserve aircraft not combat ready. And we honour him for this, he gived his life and showed many his courage. Respect to him ! You don't have to generalize things u see.

It was a desperate move, yes. But what would you do when you have an aircraft unfit for combat and you see formations of enemy bombers flying towards your cities to bomb your families. It was a heroic move, not many US pilots would do such feats. We sided with the nazis, and then the soviets, every enemy you ever had in 20th century. Does this makes us less human and we should not defend ourselves? You can't blame us for this. We as a nation have the liberty to choose for ourselves.

Well, none of ours needed to do it as well, they could just abort mission and go home, but they didn't, they stayed and performed their duty cause it was about more than their own survival. If your pilots had to defend their own skies, I think they would do the same. The ramming attacks (we don't call them Kamikaze, we are not Japs) are an act of admirable bravery and honor. Shows how much a person is dedicated to his homeland.

We weren't loosing against anyone, but when we turned against the Nazis in 1944 it was because the communists in Bulgaria started a revolution and changed our allegiance in the war. The Soviet army by that time was about to cross the Danube river and as much as I respect our armed forces and soldiers, we could not fight them off. Not a single bullet was fired when the Soviet army was crossing through Bulgaria and we even fought with them to liberate Yugoslavia and Hungary.

Completly wrong! After a number of combat flights your young pilots were allowd to go home. The real experts were the germans, brits, bulgarians etc. they fighted from the first day till the end of this damn war. You were just young boys and lucky you had superiority in numbers.
