I hear a smart bird in the background..i know you had fun, i hit an 18 wheeler myself on a 250 rebel at 40,,broke 5 ribs...Jesus helped me recover and back on bikes again with a little more wisdom,,it was trucks fault...glad you made it thru it..give thanks and praise God for another day and he will bless what days you have left...some get bitter about stuff and others wake up and come alive and wisely use the time they have left...God bless you and your family and your bird if that was a bird.
Very sorry about the leg. As a Vmax rider with 35 years of dirt and street riding I got to say you probably were not ready to ride a rocket like a Vmax. Rear ending any vehicle is the fault of the rider. Likely before your Vmax, you had something tame like a Vulcan, for instance? To often people buy machines they just don't have the skill or experience to ride. -goes for any motorized vehicle. I sport a few pins and plates but never anything due to negligence on my part. There is a lesson here.
this poor guy has lost his ride and a couple of bits of his body and u put comments like this u prick. u aint got a clue wat bike he had b4, and he was doin 45mph, so could happen to anyone. as a biker/ vmax owner myself , i think we all know the dangers of riding a bike, i think u should keep ur snotty fuckin comments to urself. talk about rubbing salt in the wounds, there is a lesson here...... DICKHEAD.
I stopped driving my V-Max and then sold it about three years later. There comes a time when you have to stop. To play poker you have to fold some hands. I had some good mad times with a VMax but any more than 4 passengers is dangerous.
I'm glad you are a live. Sorry about the loss of a part of you. I hear these stories and see videos and sometimes question why I ride. I have a slow bike, a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan 800, but 45MPH is 45MPH. I've wanted a VMAX ever since I saw one and heard about what it is capable of. Especially the new 2009 VMAX, it sends chills up my spine to hear that engine and the VBOOST to kick in. If you want to still ride, I hope you have figured out some options, as I they exist. Bless you.
That sucks bud, I'm really sorry to hear about it. I agree with bradh29, vmax's are some really nice bikes. It's hard to find a fast bike where you ride it like a real motorcycle. I personally hate crouch rockets, which is why I'm trying to decide between a vmax or a buell.
v-max's are some awesome bikes man, that sucks she looked like a beauty,i haven't wrecked to bad yet on any of my bike's, but i did hit a dog one night doing about 120mph on my ninja, he broke every fairing on it..luckily i held it..or me and the passenger would be dead...anyhow keep riding and dodge them 18 wheelers from now on..
I watched a guy with a Vmax smack into the side of a passenger bus. The bike knocked the Bus tire OFF. That person on the vmax never made it.
He was doing about 80 when he collided. Mad me sick, he was showing off for me because he saw me on my Maxim X. We weren't racing, he was just showing off. He left a wife and child behind. Very sad.
I have a vmax with sidecar that I built for long distance desert touring in Australia. I built it out of a bike that had been in an accident similar to yours but thankfully not as bad. You could definitely ride a sidecar outfit with one leg.
what are you talking about?
I had a brand new mach 3 kawasaki in 1970,I was cut off, they had to tow the car away, full size chevy.I got hurt real bad.I never really fully recovered, but life goes on.Good luck and move on,everything will be okay.
sorry about the accident...your alive and that is what matters most...all of us who ride live with that fear in the back of our minds that this could happen to us too...I hope one day you are able to ride again if you choose...best of luck!
dam people, doesn't anyone care about other riders ? This could happen to anyone. try just alittle to have some kindness to others, mabe your life will get better. safe riding.
Really sorry about the accident. Anyone that had such a nice V-Max obviously loves riding. I hope it's not an unwelcome suggestion, but maybe you could consider an automatic bike like a Boss Hoss and Trike it, or at least go on an ATV every now and then. I hope you can still get opportunities to feel the wind and acceleration and adrenaline rush that made you get a V-Max in the first place. God Bless.
I don't know what everyone is complaining about, all you need is some jb weld a pipe wrench and breaker bar and you could have that thing back on the road in a day or two.
well this will be my last reply, as I am sure that your mommy doesnt want you talking to strangers. Have fun with your sad pathetic life and good luck on the whole gay marriage thing hope it works out for you two.
Glad you're ok, and sorry for your loss. I think applesmurf said it all when it comes to riding the Max, that's exactly the approach I take now that I'm well into my third decade of street riding. Good advice, D.
Glad to hear you are doing well, all things considered. Sorry about the Max, but better it than you... I have a 99 Max myself, and ride it whenever I can. I`ve come in to the habit of riding it as if everybody else on the road is blind and deaf as well as idiots. That way I force myself to think on their behalf. Has saved me quite a few times. Good Luck!
When I saw the description I thought it was going to be an onboard video of overtaking a truck.
How wrong could I be. Hope you recovered ok and that you did the right thing and got back in the saddle?
Safe riding.
