Oh my god... Please, Im only 15 years old and even I know that it should be played PAMI not PIMA. And this guys guitar doesn't sound very good either. "I M A" lol :D In another video this guy polishes his fingernales and in this he tries to teach guitar. Pathetic.
For some reason I didn't expect him to be good at it, it takes years of practice. Someone who's amazingly good at it is john williams that guy is rediculous.
This is just completely wrong - anytime you do tremelo it should be in this order - PAMI.
You look at any piece of music with tremelo in it and you will see this is the correct fingering.
Anatomically you hand is designed in a way that finds the movement of PAMI very natural, and PIMA quite unnatural.... using the order of PIMA, you will never play as smooth, clear or as fast as using PAMI.
I would add that this is rather basic stuff. Working out even play is accomplished through accents and short bursts of tempo increases. I thought yours was a bit uneven.
The biggest problem in learning the tremelo is having the patient method of daily practice. Its like the Segovia scales my teach had me practice so much. I thought I would go mad. I am greatful now.
They are a boon and a curse. I like to think of them in terms of all the years wasted playing scales at slower speeds, and far less smoothly. Think of all the options they open for you in playing.
man where did you learn what you so called " tremelo "of yours :)) , no offence but that technique i used to try when i was on my second day lesson of basic technique my level that time was kinder garden :)) lol that was 2years ago..and my teacher said to me if im going to used that pima technique i rather play percussion not guitar ehe... peace man!
"Tremelo" (whatever that is) might be pima. Tremolo is pami. If you're intereste in classical guitar, please don't learn anything from this clown and his videos. That is, if you actually hear something that isn't either obvious or "like that"
I learned pami, pima works very well for fast arpeggio's but the distance btwn the (p) and the(i) felt off balanced. Since the goal is total finger control doing it both ways sure can't hurt, and is probably a fine finger exercise.
off course their is a great difference, never said there wasn't. :) Playing a 5b tremelo is a very good exercise that will improve your regular 4b tremelo
p i m a! are you kidding me? classical guitar tremolo is very different from flamenco tremolo. there is a amazing of paco pena explaining the huge difference between them.
Is it possible to post that video in some kind of way, if it's to much trouble than don't bother, thx anyway. I'm very interested in what paco pena has to say? :) (whoistn't
I agree with jason, the tremolo is indeed a very difficult technique and if you want to sound beautifull it's HARD work and you'll need lots hours of training. And something tells me you quite underestimate the tremolo "effect". Ever heard recuerdos de la alhambra ??? That's a tremolo effect :-). Keeep practicing on that one. Are you ready to teach?
I play classical guitar for several years now, and I can play the pami version, but (until) now never heard of the pima...As a challenge I want to learn it, who knows, maybe it will work better for me. If you are looking for something new; try the flamenco tremolo; p iami of as I do it; p amim
haay, have you got more information about this pima?? because i am a classical guitar player, moderate advanced, but I experience a lot of great difficultie with the regular pima, I am struggeling with it for two years. This sooo frustrating because I play a lot of romantic classical music (barrios etc..) So maybe this Pima is a solution for me? Have you got more info?thx
i really like the sound of tremolo effect...
but, isn't it better if we start the tremolo technique with finger A and then continue with M and I? :)

this guy is an idiot with a terrible tremolo.

Actually I prefer to use PMIA and it works perfectly...
lordoferebus 2 years ago
you can actually play an effective tremolo PIMA or PAMI however and any single which way that you want to play it.
and kids, if you have nothing good to say, dont say it.

I hate the segovia scales... they are so tedious. But they help a LOT.

oh no!! his tremollo is quite a shit. Luckily he didn't speed it up, we would be deaf now

Tremolo is p a m i. Look at Tarrega's Recuerdos De La Alhambra. It is physically easier to play pami.
jagara1 5 years ago
If you're not a Yamishita, you cannot go against the evolution, that is p-a-m-i. Far worse, your p-i-m-a seems not working in even its slow speed.
