You can teach yourself everything you need to know about a computer with the internet and a little motivation. I'm sure there are some good tutorials on Youtube on how to build a PC. Theres always something new to learn in the Information Technology field as technology in hardware and ect advances so quickly.
@fifi0204 It's a great headset for the price I paid for it ($35). Yeah the headstrap (or whatever its called) is broken on it since I accidentally sat on them, but the speakers still work fine.
That's the Saitek Cyborg Command Unit. It's a very great peripheral and if you can find one I would highly recommend buying one. If you can't find one and want something similar the Logitech G13 and RAZER Nostromo are good alternatives (alittle more expensive though as I only paid $35 for the Saitek brand new). I would pick the G13 over the Nostromo in features but the Nostromo is better looking in my opinion.
Yeah, I woulnd't go over a Radeon HD 5770/6770 as it will just bottleneck the GPU, although I have read that after overclocking to 3.4ghz or more that you can pair this CPU with a Radeon HD 6850 and get smooth gameplay.
Yeah the Phenom x2 555 woud be a better choice cause the multiplier is unlocked which will allow greater overclocking and has 6mb L3 cache which will help in games and other tasks. I would go with a Radeon HD 6790 over a 6770 as the 6790 is a 256-bit bus over a 128-bit bus, but if you can find a Radeon HD 6850 for cheap (which they are now) I would just go with that.
The 955 x4 is a quad-core, so you will notice better performance in games (especially while using FRAPS to reccord games) and computer tasks such as video editing. You can buy the Phenon II 555 and unlock it to a quad (or just a triple core if it's not stable on all 4 cores) if your motherboard supports ACC. Both are unlocked Black Editions so they will overclock well (just invest $50 or so into a better air cooler)
I hope you have a little brother or someone you share that other computer your bastard lol ;) j.k dope stuff looks real crazy half of the stuff you own I don't know what it does.
wow i wish i knew exactly what to do to build a new comp.. freakin alienware is expensive as hell, nice vid any tips on a 2010 comp for WoW:cata, SC2, and a couple other big runners like wow
There are many helpful tutorials right here on Youtube on how to build a PC. What are your computer specs right now? You might only have to upgrade a few components, rather than building an entirely new computer to play the games you listed. World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2 are not very demanding games so you dont need an extreme PC to run them. A Dual-Core CPU and a nice mid-range GPU will run the games just fine for you, maybe not maxing out in 1920x1080 but will play fine.
The movie playing was John Carpenter's The Thing. Great horror movie from the '80s starring Kurt Russell, I would recommend watching if you haven't seen it.
@thedudeoncouch I THOUGHT that's what it was! Because I know that old guy with the glasses ends up getting his arms bitten off when he tries to defib a guy; the paddles sink into the dude's chest, which turns into a big mouth and bites his arms off! But it's been SO long since I saw it, I didn't recognize the other people in the background. Time to put it on my Netflix queue. :)
Hey I've had the same mobo (p5gl mx) for ages and i just bought a brand new Pentium Dual Core E5400 2.7 Ghz but every time i boot up when the new cpw is installed nothing appears on the screen, no sounds, no bios, nothing.. Even after bios update.. Do you think it's incompatible?
Even though that cpu is still LGA 775 socket it's not compatible with the motherboard, the Asus p5gl-mx has the Intel 915GL chipset which was released in 2005 and only supports Pentium 4, Celeron D cpus. Sorry man, but you going have to upgrade the motherboard =(, but I could be wrong. Newegg . com has the best deals.
@thedudeoncouch Fucks sake! I just got scammed BADLY at my local pc supplier..They fkng told me it was compatible.. Guess ill have to put that old ass 2.6 celeron d back in.. Omg But thanks for the information :)

@thedudeoncouch I hard that radeon 6790 is the 6870 , without the defective parts , or something like that .
Is it true ?

@thedudeoncouch Is there a big difference between the Phenom II x4 955 and the x2 555 ?
Cuz the price is almost the same ...

With alienware you pay $500 for there logo because it is big and well trusted for high end gaming

i had a DIY Pc and the specs is about the same as alienware but better casing and the price is cheaper!
i dont think alienware is worth it

Alienware is not worth the money if you know how to build computers. Alienware laptops are nice though, but overpriced too.
