i may be wrong but from where I come from....a press up qualifies as feet togeather, back straight, chin and eye looking up....go down touch the floor keeping your elbows in and then back up with full arm extension. Your obviously an in shape chap, I'd rather see 10 perfect press ups as oppose to 50 half decent ones :P
I tend to do slow pushups. Boasting you can do 100pushups for instance is silly when most of the time, you'll do speed pushups which are fairly easy as you're using elastic energy to bring yourself back up. If you pause at the bottom, take a breathe, and come back up, you'll activate more muscle fibres therefore increasing more muscle growth. What's the point of doing an exercise and not get the full benefits of it you know what I mean?
You got a strong back. You should slow down and go deeper for your chest. It's best to go down slow so your getting a negative workout; not just letting gravity do the work for you. Then explode up.
You need to always shake up your routine, wether your doing fast or slow reps, but i know when i do the slow reps, i feel every bit of that rep . Hey that guy is strong and congradulations to him. 50 pushups fast or slow is not easy.
I dont see the benieft of doing them that quick, its better to take 2 sec up and and 2 sec down with 1 minute pause. fast weight, or pressups are a waste of time, unless your doing it in a plyometric way.
@sexywomentoesuck false doing faster pushups increases fast twitch muscle and more dense muscle fibers, doing slow pushups can train your arms to do pushups but in the end just wears you out with very little gains
@sexywomentoesuck - totally agree, even if you were to pause for a second at the bottom to eliminate 'the bounce' it proves much harder, good to see the elbows pointing backwards instead of flairing out to the sides!
@stefanom8 isn't it better for your chest to flare your elbows out a little bit like 45 degrees to the torso. i have been told that keeping the elbows close to your body will work more triceps.
mn faso mais que iso hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Try going all the way down and doing 50, fast or slow. Post that and I might be impressed. You don't go down too far on this 50.
