When I was a teenager in the fifties our combined junior and senior chorous sang "One God" in the auditorium with our families and friends present. It is one of the fondest memories of my high school days. How things have changed.
@alenealenek Things like this can usually be found on eBay. I've had to replace several albums lost during a move, and most often I've been able to find one there...just takes a little patience and repeat searching sometimes.
What a beautiful way to welcome this Easter Day!!!!! I have this cd and have played it almost thru, I love everything on it but this is by far one of my favorites. Even at the young age he recorded these you can feel the level of emotion. There are times in life when one needs to shut the world out, pause , and reflect on the simplicity of our beginnings. What better way to do it. Have a blessed Holiday however you worship.
We are so very lucky to have lived in this era that Johnny Mathis and Barbra Streisand touched our lives through their wonderful voices. This song has to be the most moving song I have ever heard...GOD is most powerful...and no matter how you worship him....there is only ONE GOD. Thank you for posting these wonderful renditions of the song. We love you Johnny...and Barbra..
I got turned onto JM in 1962 while a freshman at U. of Notre Dame. Saw him live on campus. What a joy!! I'll bet not many folks know that Mathis held Ca. high school record in the long jump!
I own many Johnny Mathis albums. The original LP cover of "Good Night Dear Lord" hangs above my computer in my music room. Of all the songs I have ever heard, and these include selections from Johnny Mathis and every other singer I have ever enjoyed in my 66 years,"One God" is still my very favorite. I loved it when I first heard it in 1958 as a 16 year-old. The song still stirs me. The violins and trumpets, the incredible trill in Johnny's voice, and the crescendo are all truly inspirational!
@bobster1171 I agree. "Walk with me brother, there were no strangers after his walk was done. For your God and my God are one". We're lucky to have lived and listened to Johnny for so many great years.

Even though there are thousands of diverse ways to live on this Earth, there's only one way to get to Heaven. And that's Jesus Christ.
"I am the way, the truth and the life, and no one cometh unto the Father, except through me." John 14:6
Thanks for uploading this wonderful song!
