So even if she gave the shot, the puppy can still get sick and there is nothing you can do legally since all vaccines have 99% efficiency, only thing i think is she can't prove she did the shots, and that a licensed vet did them.

There was definitely not nearly enough evidence that the defendant sold them a sick dog. The judge's decision will get overturned in a second on appeal.

The judge is correct. The defendant is actually wrong. I bought a puppy with parvo, the vet diagnosed it and the seller acknowledged it, despite no other puppies in the litter getting the illness. They BOTH agreed that it can be caught from humans who handle different dogs and pass the illness on. It's the SELLER'S responsibility that the dog she's selling is healthy. She's just shirking her whole part in the thing.

the cost of taking 13 puppies to the vet is pretty expensive! you can get the shots for dogs and other animals for around $5-$10 each @ tractor supply. so i think the non puppy breeder was doing what was least costly. as for the parvo? i got 3 puppies from someone. all 3 got sick , the 2 largest recovered within 24 hrs, the smallest never did. he died of parvo. as for this case the other 12 puppies might have had parvo, but had stronger immune systems.

Giving your dog their shots isn't proof of being a breeder, though I would imagine a lot of back yard breeders do. Breeding makes her a breeder. Parvo is usually contracted through contact with the fluids and feces of infected dogs. It's possible, but rare, for a puppy to get it from the shot. Parvo is very common in BYBs and puppy mills.
This woman is almost certainly a backyard breeder, giving her dogs shots isn't proof of that.

No one stated she was responsible for the disease. The Judge said the disease is everywhere; however, it takes 7 to 14 days for any symptoms to show of the disease and if you did the math right, the seller had the puppy within the days it contracted the disease.
The (not a) breeder is liable because the time it takes for the symptoms of the virus to appear after infection is greater than the amount of time that the dog was in the plaintiffs' possession. The defense's case is weakened by the "doesn't make sense" factor that an arbitrator is allowed to take into account.

It never fails to amaze me how bold-faced these liars are. It's so obvious she's a breeder - and the reason she gives the vaccinations herself is so she doesn't have a vet out there (whose first concern will be the dogs and not her wallet) who knows what she's doing, how many litters she's having, etc...

Linda...you ARE a dog breeder. Aside from the fact that you vaccinate your dogs yourself, having self-proclamed "irresponsible" litter after litter...13+10>20.

the cost of taking 13 puppies to the vet is pretty expensive! you can get the shots for dogs and other animals for around $5-$10 each @ tractor supply. so i think the non puppy breeder was doing what was least costly. as for the parvo? i got 3 puppies from someone. all 3 got sick , the 2 largest recovered within 24 hrs, the smallest never did. he died of parvo. as for this case the other 12 puppies might have had parvo, but had stronger immune systems.

@SpikesScarletWitch sorry...i might be wrong on the recovery time, my 2 largest pups seemed to be off their feed for about 24 hrs. then were fine...so..just putting what i dealt with personally, might be abnormal i dunno. just my experience. :D oh and there IS a human form of parvo but neither human parvo nor dog parvo can cross the species barrier. <---to put some folks at ease here. :D cheers!

Giving your dog their shots isn't proof of being a breeder, though I would imagine a lot of back yard breeders do. Breeding makes her a breeder. Parvo is usually contracted through contact with the fluids and feces of infected dogs. It's possible, but rare, for a puppy to get it from the shot. Parvo is very common in BYBs and puppy mills.
This woman is almost certainly a backyard breeder, giving her dogs shots isn't proof of that.

if she's not a breeder why would she have to track the serial#'s & give the shots herself? Way to many dogs end up in the shelters & then have to be put down. Why don't you rescue dogs instead??

yea thanks... do you even know me? I posted this to warn people about parvo... they took the puppy purchased from the owner and none of his other 7 puppies got sick... it couldnt have come from his home..

Nonetheless... After re-watching the case as it points out that you're the breeder, I don't care if you deny it at all....YOU ARE A BREEDER, the person who purchase the puppy i entitled for protection just like if you purchase an iPod and it breaks after a few days using it, you are entitled for an exchange or refund within the 30 day period. Sure it's means puppies are like electronics in this case, but the fact of the matter is that the buyer is entitled for protection within a time period.

The judge was a complete bitch! How is she responsbile if none of the other puppies contracted the disease? I also thought it was the judge's job to be unbias, I hate court shoes like this, complete insult to our justice system. Judge should be thrown from the bench.

No one stated she was responsible for the disease. The Judge said the disease is everywhere; however, it takes 7 to 14 days for any symptoms to show of the disease and if you did the math right, the seller had the puppy within the days it contracted the disease.

The (not a) breeder is liable because the time it takes for the symptoms of the virus to appear after infection is greater than the amount of time that the dog was in the plaintiffs' possession. The defense's case is weakened by the "doesn't make sense" factor that an arbitrator is allowed to take into account.
And get some better socks if you don't like "court shoes" >XD

actually we did not get "paid" I did fly out on their dime to NY and was given money to eat.. I was told to go in and act like I was mean and crazy. I was very upset they didnt pull the owner of the dog out but because I was the one who assisted in sellig the puppy I was blamed. anyway. i am sure you dont care about the truth like anyone else here..
