Please tell me how the scorpion got crushed. The scorpion looks exactly like it did before the encounter. The much larger tarantula couldn't hurt the scorpion at all. Scorpions almost always beat tarantulas. At the very best all a tarantula can get is a draw. Just look at the other comments. In the first 36 secs of this vid, the scorpion looked healthy ...clear-cut, defined segmented cephalothorax. The last 3 secs while the scorp was dying, its carapace looked like a target board after machine gun training. What type of seeing-eye dog do you have frozencloud? The labs & German Shepards are really good.

actually no its skin is not hard at all it is almost like jello if uve ever gotten to feel it (i dont think you have) it has that texture and if u poke it it is like you can feel the stuff inside but the skin is thick and durable

pioson is an irratant of some kinds that causes physiological effects through contact, touch it, smell it, drink it etc. Venom must (generally) be injected to be harmful. If you touch a spider or tarantula, you will not get poisoned. But if one bites or stings you, you will be envenomated. That's the best i can describe it. ;o)

What happened is just what you saw; crushed scorpion, wounded spider. Who won? It depends how you define "winner". Is it the injured individual walking away from the fight scene, or is it the crushed individual brutally beaten & dying on the spot?
If you've never worked with tarantulas, they have 2 fangs hidden underneath (you could see them in this video at 0:22 - 0:23). Those are what smashed the scorpion. Will the spider die from the venom? There's a lot of debate on that. Personally, I think it will recover. The large claws & small tail generally indicate mild venom, but even with potent venom, it would take a significant dosage to take down a tarantula 3 times its mass.

Good point; probably because of the small surface area of the scorpion's carapace. If you were to punch a large squared piece of wood (10ft X 10ft), you would probably punch a hole in it. If you were to punch a small squared piece of wood (6 X 6 inches), you would likely just push it. Also, the spider bit it many times leaving a lot of dents and holes, not just 2 puncture wounds.
For those commenting on venom, whistling spiders are also known as sydney funnel webs.. and thrash anything they get there fangs into, pretty much classified as the deadlies spider in the world no scorpion has a single chance against this thing. Even if you were to throw an emprorer or rock scorpion the raw size wouldn't do anything against venom that can drop anything 65lbs or less in approx 15-20 minutes, to the scorpion its just instant aganozing pain, then death.

Scorpions often have more dangerous venom, better armor and they can grapple very effectively on similar sized opponents. The spider in most cases only has a size advantage and they naturally grow much bigger, so it really is not a fair fight unless the spider is at least a little bit bigger.

What happened is just what you saw; crushed scorpion, wounded spider. Who won? It depends how you define "winner". Is it the injured individual walking away from the fight scene, or is it the crushed individual brutally beaten & dying on the spot?

If you've never worked with tarantulas, they have 2 fangs hidden underneath (you could see them in this video at 0:22 - 0:23). Those are what smashed the scorpion. Will the spider die from the venom? There's a lot of debate on that. Personally, I think it will recover. The large claws & small tail generally indicate mild venom, but even with potent venom, it would take a significant dosage to take down a tarantula 3 times its mass.

Good point; probably because of the small surface area of the scorpion's carapace. If you were to punch a large squared piece of wood (10ft X 10ft), you would probably punch a hole in it. If you were to punch a small squared piece of wood (6 X 6 inches), you would likely just push it. Also, the spider bit it many times leaving a lot of dents and holes, not just 2 puncture wounds.

For those commenting on venom, whistling spiders are also known as sydney funnel webs.. and thrash anything they get there fangs into, pretty much classified as the deadlies spider in the world no scorpion has a single chance against this thing. Even if you were to throw an emprorer or rock scorpion the raw size wouldn't do anything against venom that can drop anything 65lbs or less in approx 15-20 minutes, to the scorpion its just instant aganozing pain, then death.

True, Funnel-Webs are considered by many to be the deadliest spiders in the world, & (if lucky) can take down an Emperor Scorpion, but the raw size of the scorpion WOULD likely tear the spider apart. Funnel-Webs are only about the size of the scorpion in this video. Emp Scorpions are the size of Whistling Spiders

(rspnse to SCORPIONANGEL88) Who's they??? Leiurus quinquestriatus (Death Stalker) is in the Guinness Book for the most venomous. They are found in the MiddleEast & many parts of North Africa.
Fat-Tails are also found in many areas, not just the MiddleEast. Parabuthus transvaalicus (Giant Fat-Tail) is from South Africa & perhaps neighboring countries.

the original question is fat tailed scorps can kill dat whisper spider. go to yahoo and put info about fatttail scorpions. it even says they are the most poisinous scorpions in the world. deathstalker may be poisonous but not as piosonous as fat tailed ones

If it actually says "deathstalker is not as poisonous", you'll have to show me the actual website. If it uses the word "poisonous", then it diminishes their credibility because the proper term is "venomous". But to answer your question, yeah, I'm sure FatTails can kill Whistlers; if the spider doesn't kill it first. We'll never see it happen because there are no FatTails in Australia

They Don't grow that big here in Aus, thats why it was small in this vid. But that spider looked hurt as it left. If it got injected, It's over. When I was a boy I used to collect these guys (spiders, scorpions and centipedes) and make them fight. The scorpion often lost to the spiders, but Only the scorpion could survive final round. The bull ant mound! Damm i was a bastard!

Scorpions often have more dangerous venom, better armor and they can grapple very effectively on similar sized opponents. The spider in most cases only has a size advantage and they naturally grow much bigger, so it really is not a fair fight unless the spider is at least a little bit bigger.

Here, it's a tarantula from Australia, sometimes referred to as "Whistling Spiders". With very few exceptions, virtually all spiders, including tarantulas, are venomous- not poisonous (yes, the narrator was incorrect). Therefore, this spider IS a tarantula and venomous ...so no, you don't sound nerdy.
