ok, maybe I am an ichingiching groupie. I never leave youtube without rambling a bit on your channel to hear that unique voice and finger picking........beckoning.....come listen...
@ichingiching lol where has this note been? that's a lovely thought.....many of your listeners feel the same as I do. I think you've missed your cue but you could make up for it by dedicating a song to all of us who so enjoy your channel... and like me are having one last listen before i call it a day. I'll pretend it's just for me..... ;)
Hi Mike, Here I was browsing ichingiching videos, and I found this one. It's one of my all time favorites (that's the way we spell it). Really nice job on a song many of us can identify with. C'mon summer!
The sounds distorted quite badly in places but having listened to more that a few of Mike's version of the 'folky clssics' this is really good, I wouldn't have expect anything different!
I'm pausing and thinking what to write.. after many years is comes naturally although its also the right/left finger combination that completes the practice.. many thanks .. regards M
wow. i've been playing guitar again for about three years and have learnt a hell of a lot from your videos about adding melody with the 4th finger you make it seem totally effortless. The ability you have to put so many embelishments with your chord progressions in my eyes puts you in the same bracket as people like Ralph Mctell. top job and thankyou
so many thanks for your kind comments.. yes the forth (little) finger can add so much embelishment..its natural to add it to many chords just to enrich the basic chords.. M
Gave this another listen this morning and bet you would do a terrific rendition of "...the Edmund Fitzgerald." (greedy aren't I?) It has a special place in my heart having grown up by the shores of Gitche Gumee. Thanks again for sharing your love of guitar & song! :) Phyllis
Okay... now you did it! I think you have been thumbing through my songbook from my youth. Maybe I better check the closet for your fingerprints! Yet another that I loved and we sang many years ago. Beautifully sung and picked. :) I like the B&W format. But the I love B&W photography best. :) Thanks for another oldie and goodie! Phyllis
Ha! sussed!! I like the black and white format too. There seems to be less distraction. I'd really love to get a few good quality vid done someday soon..
Its a classic Gordon lightfoot song but then again I only heard 'wayfairing traveller' for the first time the other day and thats been around forever. M
