from another sax player for Christ :D !!

  • AMEN.

  • J e s u s

  • Quick question my brother in Christ. What kind of pattern or scale were you playing at 6:02 it was so beautiful. Pls let me know. God has and will continue bless you.

  • Nothin complicated, just descending pentatonics in sequential patterns: A,G,F,D; G,F,D,C; F,D,C,A... etc The move at 6:02 specically was ascending arpeggios low F,A,C continuing to F,A,C in the next octave (continuously repeated). Hope this helps you out! Thanks for stoppin through!

    Jermaine

  • @christiansaxplyr Did you have a private instructor?

  • @provinceofcyrodiil - No I learned through the public school system. I played with my fathers albums: David Sanborn, Hank Crawford, Grover Washington, Wilton Felder and later Gerald Albright (too many to name). I tried to imitate their sound and style. I also learned from playing in church. I started playing in church a year after I started playing. It was a very loud COGIC church so they couldn't hear how bad I sounded back then!!! LOL!

  • @christiansaxplyr Wow dude you truly inspired me now. I play through the public school system atm and have no way of getting private lessons, although i play on my sax at home like every other day when i can. Hopefully i can get as good as you though someday

  • 素晴らしい演奏です!

    僕もサックスを吹いていますが、参考にしたいと思います。ありがとう!

  • Jermaine,I have got to give you credit. You put your heart into that song. You and your sax were one (smile). I know that if Donnie MCClurkin were listening to you he would be clapping his hands and enjoying himself. You did "Stand" JUSTICE. Love your sister -in Christ

  • Holy, Holy , Holy is the Lord God Almighty.

Who was, and is, and is to come.

  • You are gifted, God has indeed blessed you, tremendously. Your praise is awesome. Thank you for sharing. You did Donnie Mcclurkin's "Stand" justice.

  • Yes Yes! You are in true worship. I feel like speakin in tongues! You have a great annointing.

  • wow, that was awesome. God has truly given you a gift.

  • OMG. Imma keep practicing so I can sound just like you!!!

  • d+ esse cara toca muito...

  • That is serious talent right there dude, it's as if it's effortless to you...

  • Sounds good, keep it up!

  • Bravo !!

  • Dude, you have got an awesome sound and your control over the horn is amazing! You can really scream out the high notes as well! Every time I try the notes come out as a slightly overtonish kind of sound. Awesome job man. It's players like you that make me proud to play the sax.

  • Absolutely AMAZING!!!!!

  • My Lord!!! what an anointing on your life! Makes me want to play my sax! Keep on Keeping on!

  • Wow...O.O

  • omg dats amazing. i really wish i didnt stop my saxophone lessons. man

  • From one horn player to another......Brotha u bad to the bone!!!!

  • Beautiful talent brother... God bless you and keep pressing on for the Lord! :)

  • i don't cuss but -D@MN!!!

    just gotta' tell the truth,

    -kc :o)

  • Jermaine raised the bar; the roof; and the standard for all sax players on this selection. If this doesn't inspire you as a saxophonist, then you need to find another instrument. It's in the anointing and the anointing was all over this song.

  • How do you practice to get the high notes, I play but my altissimo is on and off. If I do cant hold g and f# altissimo. And I when I go above A it gets off tune!

  • My God, My God if the annoiting isnt on your life, keep serving God. God Bless You!

  • That was fantastic - 5 stars from me.

  • Wow....that's sound...5 stars!

  • Mercy!

  • thanks for the blessing in the song, i am really bless

  • PLAY IT JERMAINE! Love it!

  • Aww, this gave me the greatest chill bumps! The Lord is working through you son. God bless.

  • beautiful playing!

  • nice! love your style! nice sound.

  • Jermaine

The note I was able to play then was an B but now I think its an C but not really sure. I am new to the super notes. What are the ways or way you are able to play super C and D (fingure position)? If you don't mine.

  • I think I can hit an C

  • bigiguest, there's obviously many ways to achieve these high notes, but the quickest way is to use the very top key on your sax (the key above the "B" key) the rest is achieved with your lip and ear. Play the note down an octave first, make sure you hear it in your head, then using the top key and lipping up you should get the note you are looking for. A high "G" up to a super "D" can be achieved using that top key.

  • he hits the D with the very top key, right above your B key, plus the octave. i used to take lessons from him, u should check me out. actually he and i do a duet on my page.

  • Hey. Xan told me you were tough. She was right.

  • yeah!! that was awsome. great sound

  • Yeah! Oh yeah!

  • Great job, very anointed playing, great sound as well. What is your alto setup? How long have you been playing all together? Did you go to school for music?

  • Thanks man!!! In this video I'm playing on a Yamaha Custom Z Black with a Belmonte #7 mouthpiece. I'm now playing on a Beechler Bellite Custom #7 mouthpiece (it sounds about the same but has a little more soul). I've been playing for about 23 years now and it makes me feel really old to say that!!! Yes I did go to school for music. I went to Lincoln University in Jefferson City Mo. I was a music ed major, but loved playin too much to stick with teaching.

    Jermaine

  • I will take the Eb back its an B

  • Man that was a good job on that song. I never comment on anyones videos, but that was good. what note were u playin around 3:57 to 4:04, because I can play an super Eb 8va and that was higher than that , so please give me a response.

  • Thanks for leaving acomment doc!!! Believe or not I'm playing a super C and I slide up to a super D just for a moment. So if you are playing Eb you're actually playing higher than me.

    Jermaine

  • Not that I can compare to any of them but: David Sanborn, Gerald Albright, Grover Washington, Walter Beasley, Nelson Rangell, and Donald Hayes. Non sax influences are: Stevie Ray Vaughn, Maynard Ferguson, and Phil Driscoll. I love any player that plays with intensity and passion!!! Thanks for listening.

    Jermaine

  • man i love that sound!

keep it up man! whos your influence???

  • Jermaine that is cold blooded man I love it!! I could listen to you all day. Keep it up man.

  • Love your tone & style Jermaine. Thanks for reaching out to me. God truly is blessing you. Keep doing it for Him.

    Tony
