Great video it was the best purchase from cycle world in Southampton delivering my bike in a box with the gears out of sync. It with this video has taught me loads more. Cheers
this is for adjusting a derailleur after a cable change or for a tune up not setting a new one up!!!! not a bad video just not in depth enough for an install of new hardware
@joshor123 Screws H and L are essential to adjust the lower and upper limits of the gearing mechanism....when the limits are OK, then you can check the wire tension..in case the chain simply does not advance to the next larger disk, or the opposite: it does not jump to a smaller disk. (I just learned it by reading in some bike repair webpages)
I hate the entry

Excellent video. There are so many wasted 'how to vids' with music instead of commentary. These guys set the bench mark for how it should be done.

this doesnt at all explain road bikes. you have to go adjust the screws H and L. like falsen said, bad video unlike most of their videos

@KronprinzAdam true but you will usually be usinbg the screws unless it is your first time setting up the gears :)

@joshor123 yeap, absolutely right, many minor disadjustments can be solved just by fixing the wire tension!!!
