she's not a copy of amy's character. this series was released quite a lot before the one amy comes in. the producers wanted to add a little love back to sonic, and sonia was was perfect for him ... but she was his sister. they had to make a sonia copy and have HER fall for sonic; thus creating amy, and sonamy.
