The weak ass keyboards in this band do not pass for symphoinc metal at all. It's a poor mans symphonic sound when place next to bands suchs Epica, Emperor, and Therion. They just place a keyboard in there that at times you can't even hear. The other three bands make sure the symphonic sound is on the same level.
i normally like your reviews im even subscribed but this album is more groove metal with death vocals and obviously different to their other straight out deathcore stuff. It's actually a really good album in that perspective.

if you dont like breakdowns, don't listen to deathcore or review it, dumbfuck. wop doesnt even do many breakdowns. try bands like the devil wears prada. they do tons. stick to you 80's hairmetal bullshit
I decided to check this out and see what was so terrible about it.. oh god my ears. The definition of generic and boring.. and this is coming from someone who enjoys an unhealthy amount of generic, breakdown-heavy music.
I agree that, as a whole, this was a weak album and the symphonic parts were underused. I like this bands first record, 'Decimate the Weak', cause it actually sounded a little unique and all the instruments and vocals really worked together as whole, with each given it's moment and it just felt more like straight-up Deth Metal. This new album is basically bad re-workings of 'Reloaded'. A song from 'Decimate' that was inconsistent, with the rest of the album.
I like Winds Of Plague, but this album is pretty fucking horrible.People need to give up this shit about breakdowns. They are made for live shows. Why do you think these bands tour so much? It's energy. That's all a breakdown is. Repetitive, yeah. Unoriginal, sure. I give you that much.
if you dont like the genre, why even review it at all? Of course you are going to bias, as you said, since you are predisposed to hating it. lol. The album isnt their best work, but its still something i would listen to endlessly
"cool story bro", haha that out of the way.....enjoyin the reviews, and winds of plague, this band, pisses me off, like most deathcore bands , though on a rare note, I actually heard a deathcore band in my city before I saw Kataklysm and they weren't horrible, that being said, the standard monotonous breakdowns made an appearance soon enough, and there was little to no creative effort towards guitar riffing and drumming...yawwwnn ..I'd have more fun watching the Ultimate Warrior do karaoke
I RESPECT YOUR OPINION TO EACH HIS OWN....BUT IT'S HELLA HIGH ON THE BILLBOARDS AND WAS # 3 ON ITUNES SALES AND DOWNLOADS AFTER ONLY 20 MIN OF IT'S RELEASE AT MIDNIGHT....SO THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT !!! nOW THAT BEING SAID YOU HAVE TO LIKE HARDCORE TO LIKE WINDS IN THE FIRST PLACE. I not will give this album a listen as i know what to expect, but thanx for the heads-up. Glad there are good deathcore bands like ASP and born of osiris.

Just thought i'd drop you a recommendation of a deathcore album that doesn't suck. ;) As far as this band/review is concerned? expected. these guys are lolbad.
@SICBIK92 No they aren't. Limp Bizkit is a unique form of suck. Winds of Plague isn't Limp Bizkit wasn't a carbon copy of other bad bands, they were their own entity of bad. Winds of Plague is very similar to other crappy bands.
Not trying to argue about this, but this generation's Limp Bizkit doesn't exist, and if it does, it's Limp Bizkit. Winds of Plague is a generic Deathcore band just like Poison was a generic hair metal band. They are both equally annoying and forgettable.
No good Deathcore. I made a video on Why Deathcore sucks, and I stand by it. Deathcore sucks. It's fundamentals are CRAP. That's why I think it sucks. In order to be Deathcore, you have to be bad, and in order to not be bad, you have to not be deathcore. Nothing about the genre is decent. The IDEA of mixing Death Metal with Hardcore is GREAT, but that's actually more of what Grindcore is than what Deathcore is. Deathcore is an exclusively BAD genre.
@SeaOfTrees78 No it's not. I don't like the things that make Deathcore what it is. And every band I've heard of Deathcore, I gave a fair chance to win me over, and ended up disliking it. I even like Brokencyde for tongue-in-cheek purposes, but Deathcore just isn't good at all, at least in my mind. It's deliberately designed to not appeal to my tastes. And I don't like Born of Osiris, by the way.
@SeaOfTrees78 You obviously don't know what "tongue in cheek" is, and you also can't discredit one's opinion so quickly. I didn't discredit your opinion for liking Born of Osiris, did I? Because Brokencyde is at least recognizably bad, whereas BOO is just generic like the majority of Deathcore. You can't judge someone's worth of opinion so arbitrarily, and if you are going to, then speak for yourself because that's a form of ignorance that is nothing short of pathetic.
I thought they were generic bullshit back when I had only heard their first record.
Also, chill your fucking nuts, you're turning this into one of those dumbass "use the biggest words you can think of and call people pathetic" arguments.
@SeaOfTrees78 What? I don't use the biggest words I can think of. The words I use are literally the first words I can think of. Coincidentally, we are both Death fans. But we are disagreeing. I see no problem with disagreeing. I'm not trying to be pretentious. If I come off as pretentious, that's just because that's the way my brain is programmed - to sound overly sophisticated. I use big words and I speak emphatically.

I also hate breakdowns. It's one of the reason why I can't and don't want to get into Deathcore.
There is one band, however that does breakdowns really well, and that is Marionette from Sweden.
Unlike bands like WoP, they don't use breakdowns to break up the pace of their songs, they use it for background effect, and it works really well.
Only once that I can remember have they fucked up the use of a breakdown (and on a really good song as well ]: ) but that was it.
Check 'em out!

Bassbait 10 months ago
@Bassbait
They are simple words, but they are words that you generally don't hear common people use in every day conversation.
I have a colorful vocabulary myself in a lot of situations, I just don't find it necessary to use when I'm on the internet.
That being said don't try to belittle my intelligence.
I would have never said anything if you hadn't flaunted your elitist opinion around.
Sure, this is all subjective, but the least you can do is be less pretentious about it.
