I disagree.. This is decent technically, with the exception of the woodwinds and the 16th counterpoints, but there is ABSOLUTELY no sensitivity to the musical nature of this piece. It's sterile, it's loud, and it robs Holst of what he intended for this piece.
On the contrary my friend. Nobody can truly kno what Holst actually intended for this piece, only he himself knows. You can't judge the performance based on that. It best given interpretation of the piece. The man conducting the piece spent contless hours researching and working to get it as close to perfect as possible.
You sir seem to know nothing about this and are acting on a bias not towards the music but the people playing the music. Sorry man
I agree with Bonez4life555. Our director and the band itself studied the piece quite extensively and even after doing so, it was still hard to determine the proper way to interpret it. It definitely was not our best performance, but I don't think it is your place(directed at ScreamDaCC) to say we "robbed" Gustav Holst of his intentions for this piece.
And AHhhh you make me want to join my concert band, but w/e im staying in my "Crap Jazz Band" ROFL although were awesome and play awesome jazz stuff like Take 5 and Birdland
i swear ive heard this song before... or mabye im just mixing it up the jupiter from the planets (its a group of pieces for this...performance i saw before) it sounds si similiar :D
