I know Urdu was forcibly declared on the Bengalis, who had their own national language and identity i.e. a secular state, rather than the mainly Islamist Pakistan.

I know Urdu was forcibly declared on the Bengalis, who had their own national language and identity i.e. a secular state, rather than the mainly Islamist Pakistan.
Can you imagine what would happen if the Israelis forced Hebrew onto say Saudi Arabia, and also tried to rule it (I'm thinking the distance and everything else hypothetically speaking, is similar to Pakistan and Bangladesh) as the Pakistanis did with the Bengalis. Bhutto was a war criminal who gave the orders to slaughter thousands of Bengalis just because they decided they didn't want to speak Urdu, as it wasn't their native language, and they didn't want to be ruled by a country on the other side of India i.e. Pakistan. If Pakistan wanted to rule a country why didn't they try Afghanistan, or even India, why Bangladesh? Reason-natural resources, food production, an impoverished nation with an inadequate Army i.e. easy to rule etc, to annoy India etc.
