Funny thing is, Clapton called Marley cause he liked some explenation of the song before covering it. But after a 30 minute call Marley still didn't say anything that made sense, so Clapton went "o well" and aced it, as always. He is God after all...

@ABFan19 My eyes don't lie to me...and my audio-visual coordination and timing are impeccable, even if I do say so myself. Watch the mouths of all the singers at closeups, including EC's, and watch the bass player's fingers and listen for the notes. The visual is a noticeable split second ahead of the video. My processor isn't old. Other posts of yours and others are in sync. This one is just off, that's all.

Bob Marley played the guitar but was never a "guitar player", get the difference? Eric Clapton is a guitar player and a great one. But he doesn't sing in with Bob's feeling and intensity. Bob didn't play it with Eric's skill. The best would have been to have Bob Marley sing this song with Eric Clapton playing the guitar.

This is by far the best live solo you ever find & the best rendition of "I shot the sheriff" there is period. How can anyone compare Marley to this? Nobody ever heard of Marley until Clapton made a hit oiut this song. Just like he did with many of the old blues players songs.

Marley wrote a great song but what Clapton did with it here is made it a masterpiece.
