I played EVERY heroes might and magic game and its expansion, my first was 3 and its my top favorite game of all time i spend 150+ on multiplayer with my buddies, 1 and 2 are nice but they didnt age well because of 3, 4 is plain boring to me, i dont like the grapichs, sound or factions, 5 is a mixed bag, i like the fighting more and the factions are ok, but i wish they would stop trying to make it look like lord of the rings.

Yeeeeesss, Gold Dragons motherfuckers! Me and my friend used to play this game against each other all the time, I'd pick Rampart and he'd usually pick either Stronghold or Castle.

He'd always think his Angels and Archangels would come through for him but.... I could always get my fucking Green Dragons first, then BOOM, in comes the Gold Dragons around 9 or 10 turns later.

Such a satisfying feeling when it's finally possible to recruit them.

Haha, I remember playing this for the first time in 1999. My country was bombed during that period by NATO, and my father let me play the game the hole day. Because of this game, I never had the feeling that there was a war outside. Wonderful game, that has led me through a tough period of my life and made it a lot easier for me...

I remember, that my PC had a 4mb graphic card, 333mz processor, and 3gb hard disk space, and this game worked like a charm.

@ugleland Yeah i agree,my favourite also. I played Ryland, diplomacy and leadership with dendroid and archers in the beginning, great combination, my favourite. Also the dragons have highest armor of all the creatures from castles... btw best game ever invented!

@ooOvincanityOoo I beat a gand castle army with and army of rampart! It is one of the best castles if you know strategy! Better than anny other one shooter town (except for necropolis, they kinda rule the one shooter class)

the music is fantastic along with the idea or concept of the castle-its creatures and outlay. Based on Germanic and other various myths but I found this castle to be a challenge to play. I mean don't get me wrong a lot of great units, but even such I felt it far more of a challenge than some of the other castles.

This was one of my favorite castles, along with the one that was kind of in a desert with a big rock on the right side from where you could get dragons i think. This is one of the best classic games.

In my opinion, this race is the hardest to use correctly, since it relies on the fact that during the middle-last parts of the game, you use the Dwarf Treasury building into order to prevail financially over your opponents, (as the creatures here aren't the strongest unfortunately, maybe except the awesome ranger <3)

@TheArin u must not have played allot of bigger maps, u dont pick a starting faction for the strength late game u pick them for early game, rampart has a great character Rayland with his starting traits of basic leadership and diplomacy you will find many wandering stacks will join you. With that and teching to grand elfs right away makes for a solid early game. After that even hero trains wont supply your forward army so you have to rely on forward bases

I personally prefer Kirre because of his logistics specialy. He comes with the skill and it also gets improved more because it's his specialty. Having it to expert early in the game ensures gathering huge amounts of resources so you can afford to skip on income-generating buildings in your town for a few turns in order to assemble an army faster :)
